I bet you really look forward to every other Monday!
My schedule varies so much that my husband has to look at the calendar to see when I will be home, LOL. But I only work evenings and nights, usually 16-hr shifts, unless it is OT (then I do 6 or 8 hrs OT). But, by doing the 16-hr shifts, I get long stretches off, so it's worth it to me.

I sure do, we love me 3 day weekends.

My wife was a nurse for many years. She spent her last few years of work as IV therapy, she is a great stick. She started in the NICU at Johns Hopkins so she really can stick anybody. It is so funny when she sees somebody's inside elbow and says great veins.

Hey 75, This is what TV said about the TTOil

I bought my tea tree locally, at a little all natural health food store - or at Super Supplements vitamin store.
My favorite brand is called Desert Essence, which is labelled as 100%pure Australian essential oil of Tea Tree.
Don't buy the toothpaste or rinse concoctions. Their concentrations are too low. My dental hygenist says to rub the oil into your brushes bristles & massage it in. Then rinse & spit.

Thanks for that Salem as well as TV, I will try that tonight. I was gone to the store to get some more q-tips and such. I checked my email and to my surprise there was a tracking number for my e-power :) :) :) He actually sent the tracking information about 2 hours after I ordered so I should get it by Thursday or Friday *does the new pv dance* *shakes again*

Hi gang! I'm in & out, round & about today!
I see that you already found my earlier post about the tea tree oil. You'll get used to the taste. It's not great at first...
Since I really miss my old Interplak toothbrush (they don't make them anymore!) ... I've been pricing out a Roto-dent.
Unlike the sonic care...The rotodent massages the gums like the interplak used to do.
If those gums get massage & tea tree, the pockets will snap back up to 2's from 5's in about 3 weeks. It's really amazing!

My hat's off to anybody who can work in a NICU!! Those are some tiny veins!
Yeah, I look at people's veins in a whole new way, LOL. And their airways! I'll look at someone in line at the grocery store and think "Lord, I'd hate to try to intubate them!!". As you already know by being married to one, we nurses are a strange breed with our own strange sense of humor!

Ha, I learned my lesson a couple years ago when we went on vacation with some other couples, and I found myself in the fine company of 4 nurses...(OR, ER, recovery & clinic).
I learned more about bowels & drugs in those 7 days than most humans should need to know.

Wow! I sure could use your wife when I need an IV! I almost always have to ask for an anesthetic nurse to start my IVs. My veins roll around and I have been a human pin cushion more than once. My back surgeon showed me that all they need to do is hold the vein still and poof, right in there :)

It was fun. And it was Mexico...so the topic always centered around who was sick that day. The nurses seemed to think that drinking plenty of hard liquor was the key to staying healthy...
Because I gag (& puke) REALLY easily, most of my nurse type friends think it's pretty funny to talk about gore & see if I start choking. My sister was an army medic, and she's especially had fun with this over the years.
Seriously, if anyone talks about poo or spew for too long...I lose it. I really don't know how I got thru the diaper years with my kids!

Before I go to bed I will show you guys what a nurse did to me while I was away. I have been pricked thousands of times and have beautiful veins that don't even need a band on my arm to show up. She blew my vein out then tried to stick me in the same spot. I was purple for about a week and I didn't even get a sorry :( Now I am left with no vein in my right inner arm smh

That's surprising Salem! Usually the best way to get good at IVs is to practice, practice, practice! It is a rare doctor or surgeon who can start an IV! They don't usually do them so don't have the practice! It is good you have a surgeon who can.

My doc is also an anesthesiologist :) The problem is that I think they don't teach phlembotomy anymore from what I have heard. I have had severe bruising and nasty looking arms just from them trying to get blood from me :(
