Tina will be home in about a 1/2 hour. She was his human. it's going to be rough on her. She knows and all it's not like I didn't tell her. we talked it all over for the past couple days. And just like when we were raising the kids. if we both didn't agree then it wouldn't have been time yet.

Gummy,

I am saddened to hear about D.O.G. I know the decision wasn't easy even though it was best for him - it is never easy regardless the reasons. I am glad that you and Tina could decide together; I am glad for D.O.G not to be hurting anymore.

It is heartbreaking to lose a furry friend - they are our family, too. My heartfelt sympathy and hugs to you and Tina, both.

I had a dog once—exactly once.

She was a Toy Collie my single mom took on to color the lives of her three children, beyond what her minimum-wage job—supplemented by taking in ironing—could do. Her name was Lady, and I'll hope you'll forgive me, Gummy, if I state she was the sweetest, most loyal lump of canine flesh on God's Green Earth, then or now.

In the moment I last saw her alive—collapsed on asphalt, convulsing, the last of her escaping through her paws like the last granules of sand sifting through the neck of an hourglass—I recognized the paroxysm of grief I felt wasn't because she was as good, as near as my brother, sister, mother—she was better than all that.

I understand your pain completely, Gummy. I've never gotten close to a dog again.

Happy Monday Morning Everybody and a special "hi" to you , melissafara. Glad to see you've stopped by our little place here and we'd be delighted to have you join us in our conversations and fun! Please make stopping by a habit, even if its just to say hello.

Its a pretty morning here in East Texas and it's supposed to get up to a little over 80 degrees. I haven't made any plans for the day yet other than avoiding work at all costs. But I'm sure happy to see all of you going off to work and having all that fun! Just hope you have a good time doing it!!! And I'll have fun laying around being retired!!

Have a great Monday!

TT

Thank you for the welcome TT!
