So I mixed up a few variations of the Double RY4 this weekend.

Double RY4
Double RY4, Carmel Candy, Bavarian Cream
Double RY4, Carmel Candy, Sweet Cream
Double RY4, Carmel Candy, Sweet Cream, Bavarian Cream

I honestly don't taste any difference between the variations, except for each one being sweater than the next. The Double RY4 is sweet in of itself. So does steeping it bring out more of the RY taste than the actual sweet taste? I just ordered some AP to add, because I do like more of a nutty/earthy taste in my RY.

I see you're trying to add some creaminess to your Double RY4, which is also something I sought to do. I wanted to create a creamy DRY4 by mixing Dulce de Leche with it. Dulce de Leche is simply a caramel variation with Milk added to it. It literally means "Milk Candy." I mixed 5% each of DRY4 and Dulce.

I achieved the desired effect when I vaped it right off the bat without anything more than a hot water bath steep for a couple of hours and some vigorous shaking. I then let it begin to properly steep. The first few days, I thought I had a great recipe. But as it steeped more, it began to develop a very perfumey odor and taste. It seems that the mixture of the Caramel within the Dulce was too much when mixed with the DRY4, which by itself already has plenty of Caramel.

Eventually, I just couldn't vape it for being way too perfumey. Talked about it here, along with my other DIY Fails.

I've been mixing:
7.5% TFA Double Ry4
3.5% TFA Bavarian Cream
3.5% Lorann Caramel

Been vaping this recipe for several months - it's great after a day and gets sweeter from there. I like the color the LA Caramel gives the finished product. It darkens a lot as it steeps, too, so you can kind of tell where it's at by looking at it.

This was my first real DIY success although I've started to feel the urge to move on. That's after vaping at least 200ml of it, though . .ha ha.

Make your Ry4 at 10-15 % with no flavouring and then steep for a week.
After a week take 5ml out and introduce your flavours one drop at a time until your happy with the balance of flavours, Dont over do it, one drop at a time till you just get a hint of flavour now steep again. Once your happy with the mix you can work out how many drops to add to the Ry4 you made.
I think far to many people are over doing it with flavours and putting way to much caramel or vanilla and losing the ry4 taste or what ever your mixing, Its all about balance & time.

And patience, which is the hardest part about DIY. I make and want to vape. It's so hard waiting a week or longer. :p

Just made this with 8 drops of menthol added. It's really, really good. A little weak on menthol for me, but I like it. I'm tweaking it now....

3.6% Nic 2.5ml VG
.75ml PG
.375 DRY4
.35 Bavarian Cream
.35 Caramel
.35 Dekang Menthol

Put in a glass and ran hot water over it for about 7 minutes. Filled evod on Vamo and whammo - Pretty dang good ! (at 3.4v)

Oh, first DIY attempt. Thanks Bosco ! I named it after you BoscosDry4x2 (since I doubled the % of Bav.Cr. and Car.)

Has anyone added Vape Wizard to RY4 Double? I have seeped, I have ultraSoniced and it had gotten a lot better but it still has some parts that I find too overpowering. The flavors just don't blend quite like I like them yet. I was wondering if Vape Wizard will mellow it out

I haven't used vape wizard but I have added a tiny amount of tfa smooth and it didnt hurt. Didn't mind it in the first place though.

3 weeks now into my first RY4-D, and I'm having second thoughts.

I initially liked this flavor very much, my first order was an 8ml bottle from WL ... finished that up quickly with various experiments. I found I was happy with a 8% mix and 60%VG. I then purchased a 4oz (~120ml) bottle from TFA.

As I get into other DIY projects and flavors, particularly on the Tobacco side, I'm finding that I'm not enjoying RY4-D as much as I did in the beginning, and with every vape, now that I'm able to contrast with other RY4's I'm working on, I detect a heavy dose of Vanilla which is my main problem with this juice now. Although I've always loved the scent of Vanilla, I don't enjoy eating Vanilla flavors (Vanilla Ice cream etc) and now discovered I'm increasing learning I can't vape it either. It's too perfumey to me. And now I'm beginning to un-enjoy RY4-D by itself. Anyone else find it perfumey or too heavy on the Vanilla?

Despite that, it seems as though it's a good base flavor to mix things with. I have a particular favorite RY4-D recipe that I make with Graham Cracker and Brown Sugar, which I like a lot. I'm going to try and go the route of "creamy" mixes to it to soften up the harsh perfumey taste I keep detecting. I got some Bavarian Cream and another cream base I'll be trying, and hope to salvage my investment on the big RY4-D bottle. I learned on this thread a lot of people enjoy mixing it with a cream flavor.

Vape Wizard mellows out almost any tobacco flavor. I like it with RY4 or Double RY4

So I mixed some trials of this.
30 ml each mixed at 10 and 15% @ 50/50 12mg (both with 3 drops smooth and 3 drops vinegar)
Steeped in a coffee pot for 2 hours and left them with the lids off overnight.
All Im getting is a peppery tobacco taste. I think the 10% is actually stronger so that might be the peak.
So does that mean this stuff should be mixed at 3-5%?
Or does it really need to sit for weeks? even with an extreme hot water bath?

For me it has to sit 4 weeks minimum, although I admit I didn't take the top off for a breath of air and shake, shake, shake as often as I should have. 6% fresh isn't bad, but 10% and steeped 4 weeks is the winner for me. The vanilla does come forward as mentioned by Calivapr123, but it seems like a pretty good vanilla to me, as compared to the capellas vanilla in my other ry4 type mixes.

I recently picked up some tfa vanilla swirl. I haven't had a chance to work with it much but I have high hopes for it in some ry4 type recipes. It'll be a while though, as I have to vape through about 200 ml of juice before I'm mixing anything else lol. :vapor:

Edit: I should add that after trying a couple drops of acv in the 6% batches, I decided not to use it. My final recipe is 10 percent flavor with 2 drops of tfa brown sugar extra per 5 ml and nothing else. I'm also finding that I don't care for the acv in the hangsen flavors I have.

My understanding (possibly wrong) is that this flavor relies heavily on flavor molecules and, who knows, they may not combine with other flavors in predictable ways.

4 weeks ugh
I went ahead and mixed a 5% too. I hope 10% is the magic number so i can just combine the 5/15.

I have brown sugar and vanilla swirl too. post back if the van swirl is any good with it :)

I'm hoping after it steeps that i can just add other premixed/steeped flavors to it in 5ml samples till i find something incredible.
Right now mixing anything with it doesn't seem to work because I have no idea what it will taste like.

acv = apple cider vinegar?

Dry-Sin4

10% DRY4 (TFA)
5% Cinnamon Danish (TFA)

Mixed fresh (make, shake, bake and vape) it's perdy yummy! Might go a little lower on the C.Danish next time (3%) and maybe throw in some Bavarian Cream (5%).

Nice idea! I'm still messing around with RY4 / fruit combos, but I'm going to have to give this one a shot tonight!

Thanks, It's even tastier today...very addictive, I've been vaping only this since I made it, decided to keep the Cin Dan percentage, but may try adding the Bavarian Cream on the next batch.

Do you have any of your RY4/fruit combos posted, I'm interested!

Edit: ps, is the Cinnamon Danish a tank cracker?
