Unfortunately mine is 24/7.
I just learn to live with it. Taking 600mg ibuprofen is like putting a bandaid on a shotgun wound.
Just glad to be alive and as happy as I am.[emoji173]

Sorry to hear that. I was taking ibuprofen and acetaminophen (sometimes simultaneously) for mine and slathering myself in Icy Hot. It was incredibly frustrating to me, I can't imagine dealing with that constantly.

I did that in the beginning then went to the neuropthamologist, 3 MRIs, 12 botox injections into my neck muscles to deaden the muscle nerves, no joy, so since then it's been Diazepam 2xad and Methocarbamol 3xad.
Things could ALWAYS be worse!
My mom has permanent nerve damage in her head, neck(+2 fused discs), and both arms from her "big" cat accident.
35 MRIs later, Nerve and Pain specialist every 30 days, Oxycodone 3xad and Morphine every 12 hours.
She still laughs everyday of her life.[emoji106]
My grandmother will be 96 on the 20th of Nov. She has beat cancer twice, multiple broken arms and femur, several mini strokes and multiple car accidents. She beat Spanish Flu and Spanish Inquisition.
And she still goes shopping each week for 4 hours at a time. I lost her inside a WM one time because she just took off practically running!
I had to go to customer service and report myself as a missing grandchild!
She IS BULLETPROOF![emoji56]

They are badasses. They live in Nevada, I think? :p

@QCVapor, you'd be surprised how people adjust to chronic pain. My husband pulverized 3 vertebra in his neck and had to have the entire thing rebuilt with bone from his pelvis during a drunken car accident. The cop felt so sorry for him, he only gave him a reckless driving ticket, though it was QUITE clear he was wasted, but since he drove his truck off a cliff, and climbed back up with a broken neck, I kind of think that was punishment ENOUGH.

He's an inch and a half shorter, and his scars are ridiculous! If he shaves his head he looks like Igor due to the Halo brace, and he was hospitalized for 18 months... He started out on pain meds but found they weren't helping, so he just lives with the pain and takes the occasional Advil.

He (rightly) points out that if he can't feel the pain, it would be a lot easier to reinjure himself. And he still does stuff like doing about half the work to rehab our house since it's cheaper that way and we can get a new roof as well. I used to have no idea how he did it, but being in recovery myself, I don't take pain meds other than Advil (anymore) and I've been shocked as to its usefulness. That said, I don't usually live with chronic pain (my dental implants were very trying since I don't do sedation or anything opiate related) but I've noticed the more I don't use meds, the higher my pain tolerance gets! I could probably do a natural childbirth now, but since the one I have is 20, I'd be HORRIFIED if that were to actually happen. :D I'm enjoying being older quite generally, LOL.

People with chronic pain either adjust and thrive (go Tonee N and family) or they do pretty badly. That's been my observation, and distraction and coping skills are the name of the game. Tonee N deserves each and every mod in the world! (Unless he has them all already ).

Tonee I did not know about botox for necks, thank you for mentioning that. I might do some research for the husband, though he MIGHT turn it down in any case....

The whole key to effective idiocy is practice and constantly pushing the idiocy envelope without crossing the line into a Darwin Award or embarrassing youtube video. According to mom, dad, grandma, my brother, my sister, my wife and many others, I've been an idiot for years yet I have managed to retain all my fingers, toes and teeth. That's good idiocy. Yeah, I've lost some hair in the process but hair grows back. If I could pass on any effective idiot advice, it would be to never risk anything that doesn't grow back and never ever get any tattoos on your neck or face. That's just Darwin award level idiot advertising and not good for idiocy. It's not good for anyone.

Thanks Anna.
Yep, NevADAH. The state of Sand, Sun, Casinos, more Casinos, more Sand, Firearms, and liquor stores.

I had never heard of my condition until 5 years ago and thought botox was for the weathly people who wanted their faces to look like Egyptian Mummies.[emoji6]
Turns out it's used for a lot of different things. Hopefully it's something that will work out for your husband, just don't let anyone do Steroid shots in the neck. Very uncool. I would give natural birth to a African Bull Elephant before doing that and I'm not Female! The worst pain I have ever seen my mother in.
No need for all the mods. I have 11 I'm happy with plus the Smoant TS Camo coming.[emoji6]
