If you have a USB cable this is the simplest and cheapest mod to date.

What you need:
1 small screw and washer
1 dowel rod just a bit shorter than an aaa battery
1 metal thumb tack
drill bit smaller than the screw
Super glue and knife

First prepare your cable, strip the shielding, cut all wires but the red and black. Drill a hole in one end of the dowel in the center to accept the screw. Now remove the plastic bit from the brass end cap, there are notches in the plastic to pry it off. Using the same drill bit drill through the bottom of the brass cap, then in the center of the plastic. Using the knife carve a channel for 1 wire along the side of the dowel. Shimmy the plastic cap up the cable. Place the screw and washer in the brass cap, so you just start into the dowel, then wrap the positive wire (red) around the screw and tighten. Now seat the negative (black) wire down the carved channel, and glue it there. Start pushing the thumb tack in the center of the other end of the dowel. Wrap the end of the wire around the pin end and push all the way down. Screw it in the cigar and vape your eyes out.

Not had the guts to try this yet, I've not got enough spares to risk anything till after the hols, but it loooks great!

One thing I have already found is over here (in the UK) you can get doggy poo bags on a roll, and the inner core is the same diameter as these batteries, ok a little longer, but that's easy to fix. I have a few cos I've been using them for spacers on another project.

The reason I mention it is, they are hollow, so running a wire up them will be easy and reduce the risk of stuff catching, jamming etc.,

Great mod though invidregis:thumb:

SmOoV_1, I agree with you about the video but this is really sooooo ez I dont think we need a video. It took me a while to get around to it but once I did it, it was really easy.

jimmieu, thats a great idea about using a car charger, I was going to look for an old cell phone car adapter but I think you know how that goes, when you dont need one there all over the place but when you look for one you cant find one... I think I'm loosing it.

Well those of you that have tried this mod may have had a few problems. Even though invidregis has advised everyone to put some super glue on the cap at the USB cable, the wires inside may brake.

To solve this I have gone to heavier wires inside the e-cigar and splice the new wires to the USB cable. At the splice be sure to re-enforce the wires and do so, at least an inch before and after the splice.

I used small gage speaker wire (stranded). The other change I made was to replace the tack with a washer and screw. This better secures the heavier wire.

I hope this helps.
