Have you tried making your straw a few mm higher? Sounds like that would help push the foam up.

im still experimenting with different straw heights and how much foam is exposed. the one i currently use has a little bit shorter straw length and a little more foam exposed...

by the way, whats the name/brand/location of the foam everyones using? i saw some at petco that i saw recommended here but it was like $16 and thought that was kind of ridiculous

No idea, I bought the precut ones here with my recent ejuice order:
Cartridge Filler : StrictlyEjuice.com, Flavor Shop!
They cut them a little smaller than Pete54 recommends. Mine was 12mm x 18mm (square cut). So 3mm shorter than the top is supposed to be. However it works just fine. Note that I use VG juice so if you use PG it might leak out if the top is too small.

I have to say wow to how far this stretches juice and ease of use!

Vapor production increased, however for me I'd have to say flavor is decreased. Comparing with strait dripping as it seems with all 'material' based situations, I get some bad taste...

The polyfill, and various other fills have ruined attys for me(with burnt random fibers stuck in the bridge mesh) The blue foam doesn't do this. As dripping every 15 min really sucks, this is the best compromise I've run into yet.

Well the few times the ZFM has worked it was better, but this is x10 in consistency.

i used blue foam on top of spring before, had some leaks, but worked well, this mod works great, but I agree, I get a lot less flavor and it doesn't last that long, i think because I can't fill them up that much because the straw and foam are taking so much space. think I might try the blue foam on top of the straw mod.

Sigh.
I just read almost every word on 27 pages, and understood very little
I have a Joye 306 automatic battery e-cig. I'm pretty happy with it at least for now except it's an exposed atty bridge/wick so I'm dipping, not dripping. Besides charging a battery every 2 - 3 hours ,it's constant dipping, dipping, dipping - high maintenance timewise.

I can't be the only vapor..er with a Joye 306. Can I do the BFD Cart Mod method? If so, please tell me how. Please be as specific as possible, all this trying to understand is making me braindead, I'm sooooo NOOB, and hesitant to do anything to flood an atty or get liquid on a battery at this point.

Thank you for any help u can give me... I find very little info about the Joye 306 in ECF, and what I do find is old info, still relevant, but nothing new.

Thank you for any help you're willing to share with me.

I don't know much about the 306 except that the threading is the same as a 510. You could always buy some 510's and try the BFD.

This mod works. My only other experience with e-cigs has been cartos which i abandoned this morning. I never even tried vaping my new 901 with the factory cart filler. I pulled it right out, first filling was 12 drops, but subsequent fillings take 10 drops with an already saturated dart. My dart was made with a capri sun straw and the foam was from a pre-cleaner. It is a foam pre-cleaner that you usually saturate with engine oil, squeeze out excess, and then it wraps around the air filter for a Kohler gasoline engine on a leaf blower. The foam was new, unused, in a sealed bag, and I washed it thoroughly before use. The foam isn't 1/4 inch thick though, more like 3/16th. And it is green, not blue. I made two extra darts while I was at it. Guess I probably didn't need to order so many blank 901 tips now, I guess I was having carto disposal syndrome. Great mod, thanks for helping out a newbie and making my vaping experience a good one.

You fill the cart. Look closely at the pictures on page 1. This doesn't use "straws" it uses "stirrers" which are much thinner, hence the name dart. When you first try to make one you'll think "how the hell do I get the foam into this tiny stirrer". Once you get the hang of it it's easy. I made 6 darts the other day to send to people and it took me less than 10 minutes. Once made, you fill up the cart, drop the dart in, push it down even with the top of the cart and vape. If when you push the dart into the cart the foam still looks dry then you didn't put enough juice in and you need to add a drop or two on top of the foam so that it's saturated.
Hope this helps.

So, I tried this, picked up a few coffee stirrers from the gas station while I was there yesterday. I just have the blue foam from strictly e-juice, so the foam could not go down as far in the straw and I don't think I have as much foam sticking out, but it seems to work great for me so far. I just hate running out of juice so quickly, or needing to refill all the time, and this seems to keep it flowing much longer. I will probably be making more of these darts. I found that using a bent paper clip to push the foam into the stirrer worked well for me.
