It's hard to beat Stupid Dream. Steven Wilson's work in Blackfield is great too.

Agreed. I got to see a Blackfield/PTree show in Providence. Awesome.

First time I saw PTree, they opened up for Marillion @ the Black Box in Amsterdam - May 2001. Still have the ticket stub. It reads 'Marillion + support act'. We didn't stay for Marillion :).

Funny thing is that is why I started smoking again (after quitting for 3.5 years at that time). Figured if I'm going to Europe, I'm going to damn well smoke. Idiot.

Just gave this mod a shot after frustrations with the ZFM mod having problems with the liquid actually flowing to the atomizer.

Amazing. On all counts. Quite easy to make once you get your hands on the Rite Size U pads, too. I did alter the foam cut a bit. I cut 15mmx18mm squares and then trimmed the bottom (the part you stuff into the straw) down to a point, rather than leaving it at 12mm. Made it significantly easier to stuff into the straw. I also trimmed a good deal off the top of each dart to get just the right size. I made 15 of them, and it took me maybe half an hour (and will be much faster next time).

Thanks for posting this!

alright been farting around trying to get this to work for the last hour and a half.

end result: it works.

found my main problem was i was taking too light of a draw. after cutting the foam down as much as i could, i finally took a hard draw and it started wicking!

thanks pete! :pervy:
When you fill the cart and put the dart in, add a drop or two to the top of the foam (unless it's already saturated). Might work better than sucking hard!;)

I hate to sabotage my own thread but ..................
Have you folks tried the new 510 Cartomizers yet? Buy blanks, add 30 drops and vape for 4-5 hours! They are the shizitts!! Huge vapor even at 3.7 volts. I really think that the days of atomizers and carts are over. Try it, you can thank me later (or put me in your will).

Hi Pete after reading every page 33 I think youhave been a great help and support to many including myself.
I am in Ireland and was finding it hard to find straws that size so I will be using the cotton buds ( in Ireland) and blue foam .
I also have a 510 and was wondering where to buy the cartomizers and is this the way forward for us all, thanks again Pete.
ps. Do you have to squeeze the foam to get it into the atomizer. thanks

Dave,
First of all, since you live in Ireland, you might as well order from Eastmall in China as they have the absolute lowest price on 510 cartomizers. The link is below. As far as the BFD goes, you don't have to squeeze the foam into the atomizer at all. You DO have to squeeze it into the small stirrer, or in your case the bud. Follow the directions in the first post. When complete, you just fill up an empty cart, drop the dart in, add a drop or two to the top of the foam (which if you made it correctly will be level with the top of the cart mouth), attach the cart to your atomizer and you're good to go. Honestly, just grab a few packs of 510 cartomizers and be done with all this fuss! To fill the 510 cartomizer, remove the rubber cap from the mouthpiece side and pop out the white removable mouthpiece (leave the cap and small plug on the battery side) and put 10 drops in then spin the carto using the Taryn spin and repeat 2 more times so that you have put 30 drops in. They last for several hours! To do the Taryn spin, you should make a little pouch with about a 15" string attached. You put the carto in the pouch, battery side down, and spin it for about 15 seconds. This forces the juice to the bottom and makes room for more. There are several videos on this forum showing the process. Once you get used to it, it only takes about 2-3 minutes to re-fill a carto. Two carto's last me all day.

If you're using a stock 510 battery, give some thought to getting a mod. I've bought many, too many to name here but I've got to tell you that if you don't mind spending a bit of money the Fistpack is absolutely the best thing I own! It uses an 18650 internal (not user replacable) battery that lasts for 2 days! It charges via usb right from your computer/laptop. It has a switch that regulates the voltage from 4.3v, 4.5v, 4.8v or 5.0v. I have a drawer full of unused mods since I got this thing. In my opinion, there's nothing better on the market. I does cost quite a bit but it's better than the $100 mods that are sitting in my drawer! Here is the link.

Good luck!

PS. He's only got white in stock at the moment but that should change shortly as he just got out of the hospital. They are worth the wait!

I bought some cartomiser from ivapour, who were very helpful and have a great customer service.
When I filled them up and started vaping I got a great throat hit but in comparison, litte vapor.
Its a differant type of drag your taking and I didnt like it, so I bought some blue foam and some capri suns ( for the straws) and I went exactley by the diagram on the 1st page of this thread and hey presto , no gurgling just a great vape and loads of it every time until the foam is dry, no burnt taste issues, Ill be sticking with this mod and not the cartos, thanks again, wonder did I get a bad batch of caartomisers.

I went to that site and looked but I can't find blank cartos. If you bought the pre-filled ones it could account for the lack of vapor. Try refilling one with decent juice. Because the ones they sell are "hard" cap you'll have to use the condom method. Hey, if my BFD is working good for you, problem solved!:toast:

Pete, have you tried this with Aquaclear Foam? Many ECF posts indicate preferable to the blue. I am going to try your method tonight as I have been fighting with carts. keep getting juice in mouth, varying amounts of juice on refill, flooding atty, etc., etc.,

During the day, I sit at my desk and drip into my PSPT. Pacing is no prob as I keep busy. But at night, on sofa with my box or Tornado, I over-drip, fight with carts and just get frustrated.

Cartos are nice and convenient for on-the-go but I do not luv the draw and find flavor is not the same (dripping always gives me best flavor). Started with 510 pre-filled cartos and hated the first round of flavors (prior to re-fill), moved on to blanks which solved the initial bad taste but I still don't luv the draw and reduced flavors. I now have a 510-901 adapter and tried the 808 cartos; I like those better. Will have to try the top-load and spin to get more juice in. Read condom method (from batt end) was preferable to pulling the cap but this only gets me about 15 drops. 30 would be awesome (no juice in mouth?)! Nonetheless, I still prefer juice on an atty over the carto.

I'll try your dart with AquaClear tonight when I can grab the right straw. Thanks for posting and all of your ongoing assistance to others is really awesome too. Kudos to Pete!
