The Blue Foam Dart mod is something I came up with after reading through and trying several similar mods by eclypse and Kristin. Credit should go to eclypse for doing the majority of the research on this. I am only making a slight change to his original idea. This is a bit different in that it uses a stirrer rather than a straw and I promise you that if you try it you will be happy! I use this on a 510 but I'm sure it would work on any cart with a bit of adjusting. I've used the same 2 "darts" for 2 weeks now and have never had a leak or left any juice in the bottom of the cart. Not once! I know how crazy that sounds but just try it!
You will need a stir straw about 2mm in diameter (some I've seen are larger) and some blue aquarium foam.
Cut the stirrer to 12-13 mm. Cut a section of foam to the dimensions shown below. You don't need to be exact as every one I've made works.

Now pinch the 12mm end of the foam and twist it to form a thin area that you will be forcing into one end of the stirrer.

What you should end up with is shown below. Try to force the foam down as far as the arrow shows below.

Now take scissors and trim the end so that the total length is about 22mm.

Fill your cart up (I get about 12-13 drops) and drop the dart in. Use tweezers to straighten everything up. Add a drop or two on top.
You are good to go! The beauty of this is that, for some reason, it runs dry every time and it's very easy to refill. Just pull out the dart, fill and replace it. I've used the same dart at least 20 times.
Enjoy and please let me know if it works for you as well as it does for me.

PS. It works just fine at HV as well!

Pete-
Nice step by step and picts! Have you had any nasty burnt flavor when it starts running dry?
Yes I do. That's how I know I'm running dry. There is no way around it. I'll tell you that I pretty much vape at 6v now and this keeps the atty so wet that I've yet to lose one atty!

Page 55 of my Blue Foam Plug! "Now take the foam and shove it the straw just so it holds."

So thats what happened to ya.. Tweak the design a hair with using a thinner straw, dont say anything, slap a name on it and release it for your own.

First Scotts taking a page from my ideas and comes out with his value release mod and says "You get the thanks you deserve!" and now this..

Sorry man.. i just feel stabed in the back. Talk to me before and i would of felt different about it.

As i said before.. i wont share another thought in this forum. :(

Interesting concept Pete, will try it out for sheets and giggles.

Not the best way to start a new year, relax. Pete gave you all sorts of credit, you just need to get into the habit of reading all the words.

blue aquarium foam? is this the rite size u?
Yup, that's the one.

Eclypse is always going to be "missing the light".... :)
Sorry for the bad pun...
I too find it funny that he takes two other mods and basically thinks he should have a patent on what he did combining the two. And won a Vapy Award in the process? (Whatever the hell that is)....

Most products are built on improvements of previously existing products.
It's just a bit hyprocritical that he points fingers at everyone, yet his "holy grail" was actually tweaking someone's ideas. WTH?

Also, I'm obviously not the only one that's ruffled your tail feathers Eclypse.. Get a life!
I actually feel sorry for the poor guy. He must have had a very difficult childhood.

I gotta give this a try. My PV of choice is a 510 using the blue foam perched on top of a straw, but I always manage to end up with some juice in my mouth eventually. The "ACK!" factor has been getting on my nerves.

Hey - If anyone tries it on a 801 I'd love to hear the results. I've yet to find a solution for those puppies, and so they're gathering dust.

In my newly acquired habit of grabbing straws and stirrers everywhere I see them to have on hand for a mod , I just happened to have 2 of these stirrer/straws. Didn't think I had any need to use for a cart mod, shows you how ingenious I am with thinking of cart mods
This has been working really well for my 510 carts. Always liked the foam but couldn't find a good way of holding a plug. This is going well for a couple carts tonight.

Thanks Pete54 for sharing.

Thanks to all who share ideas for better a better cart mod, all 220 threads and every one of the 4,668 posts - there, I covered everyone.

In my eagerness to try this (without coffee stirrers) I attempted it with standard narrow straws. It seems to work, but is hard to install. Where are you finding the 2mm coffee stirrers Pete54? I'll snag some next time I'm out and about. (It's 2 degrees outside right now, and I'm not goin' anywhere today!)
