If you only wanted to buy it for the button you were quite possibly wise to wait. The description of the BlackFlip on the BB website said something like "a SS button that is not in production yet". That just might mean that it will be a regular option, at the regular price in the future?

I ordered the BlackFlip because I reallyreallyreally wanted a Rev.4 and felt better that at least the $'s were going to DD and not to a "flipper" (who I would never support). Although it's very nice, the SS button wouldn't be my first choice, but at the end of the day I'm just thrilled that I got a Rev.4 at all. :)
EXACTLY! I was...still...am on the fence for buying a flipper - for two reasons; I like the button, and..well, I want a Rev4! Primarily though, for me, is that I am a big fan of the limited runs they have done in the past. This flipper is too similar to what a "limited run" may look like that it makes me....confused.....I understand the need for a flipper, I just feel like it MIGHT ultimately make a very few people that bought one a bit upset once BBV comes out with limited runs/different buttons/etc. and they are essentially identical to the current flipper that they may have just spent a grand on. I want one for many reasons, but if the flipper was truly much more unique I likely wouldn't hesitate and have bought one.....but knowing they will likely just remove the dolphin and lower the price to 3 x's down for the same color/button/etc makes me pause.

The good thing about using the Kanger RBA is that they are so cheap you can buy 3 or 4 of them, have them pre-built, cotton'd up and ready to roll..

So basically they can be treated as the pre-made. My issue with an RBA only like the Uno is that if you are at the beach (park or whatever) for the day and you pop a coil you better have rebuildable gear and supplies with you. With the pre-made coils (or pre-built RBA's in this case) you can simply remove the dead one, pop a new one in and vape away..

$7 here but I think they can be haz'd for less..

That's why I have a man-purse to carry all my vape gear. I literally have a backpack I take to work and home with me everyday....and everywhere else. If I'm "going to the beach/park/whatever, I just keep it in my car and - bam - mobile vape station!

Used to rock the man purse/fanny pack, like I was a 1980's wrestler, but then I realized after all these years that I didn't want to carry all my vape supplies with me anymore.

Simpler the better, that's the reason why I bought the rev 4. I'll keep all my rebuildable atty's at home and rock the blister packs or already rebuilt bvc's/occ's with me out and about :)

Okay, oh Wise Ones - what types of coils work with the Kangaroo besides the Kanger OCCs? Is there somethin' just a little bit less airy?

I like the vape I get with the Bridge/BVCs but I'd like to try something a little looser too.

Recommendations, advices, musings.......?

I have a Roo but haven't been using it because the Kangers just weren't for me.

Not sure what you've tried so far, but the 1.5ohm square Kanger coils are much less airy than the 0.5ohm.

If you don't mind buying something new, the billetbridge sport might be for you. Not putting it down, it's just that it really limits the airflow.

As the other kind folks have stated; the higher ohm - 1.2 and 1.5 Kanger coils (square AND round) have a tighter draw, but great flavor. Also, you can use any o-ring repurposed from another coil, and lastly, but truly lastly - I've seen people tape off one of the airflow slots from the inside to accommodate "just the right" amount of airflow....a bit much though IMO.

So the Sport has less airflow than the Roo?
I've actually taken that bottom ring from a regular Bridge and filed it down to get more airflow. The BilletBridge, BilletBridge Sport, Racer, and Roo all use the same size and threaded ring to hold the coil. The Roo has the most airflow IMO, but I haven't tried the Sport yet.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what they will potentially do with "limited releases" or "special runs"? Now that the only distinguishing feature from the standard Rev4 and the Flipper is a different button...really. This is a HUGE difference from the Rev3 flipper!

So - special runs/limited runs = will they just be the Rev4 Flipper w/out the dolphin? Maybe I'm confused and not in the know.....and missing the point of the flipper, but if all they do is a limited run with a stainless button/brass button, that is nearly identical to the current flipper - unlike Rev3's.

Thoughts on what you'd like to/think you will see with limited runs?

While I understand the reasons why Mr. DD is making the new Flippers like he is, for me anyway it just does not have the appeal that the original one did. I don't care how heavy the brass is, you just can't beat how beautiful they are. The new ones are just there to fight the ones that do flip them. While I respect what he is trying to do, I would not personally pay a Grand for one of the new flippers, unless it was all polished brass. :2c:

My guess is that there will be no special runs but only DD knows what the master plan is..

I said it before but I *think* the point of the Flip versions is to hamper the low life flippers ability to sell the regular rev 4 at high prices..

If these low life flippers are selling a rev 4 for $1,500 then why would anyone buy from them when you can get a limited edition direct from BB for $1,000? If a flipper is selling a regular rev 4 for $1,000, again, why buy from them?

The Flip version also offers an easy way for some to get a rev 4. Maybe they don't want to F5 battle it out. Maybe they want the limited edition and are willing to pay extra for it.. To some people the base rev 4 price is out of reach but to others the rev 4 flip price is easily doable.. $1,000 to me is a lot of money but to someone else it may be pocket change..

Sure the regular rev 4 will still be flipped, just not at $1,000 or above anymore. I bet they still get offered up by low life's @ 2x or 3x RRP though.. If the low lifes are only making a few hundred bucks then maybe a few of them will decide it's not worth their time and effort for such a small profit..

raq, this is a marvelous explanation.

Whatever BBV can do to slow down the flips makes good sense, and knowing BBV as I do..... it makes good sense. ;)

I'm trying to go for the "blister pack life" but it's so hard to break old habits when I've been rebuilding all my coils the past few years :(

Hope you all have a happy Tuesday

And boom. My mirror, Mr. Acey. :D

When one of you/us, when several of you/us gets all the various assorted tank inserts, it would be wonderful to do a sort of review of them. A comparison/contrast, if you will.

And blog it, please? :) (I will, should you not want to.)
