WARNING: MOAN ADVISORY

Ok, so just got my spare black borough delivered. Arrived safe and sound but seriously, not even a couple of spare orings for the top and bottom?? Really?? For $34 (without mentioning the postage from US, the import duty of 20% and a £8 fee from Royal Mail - thieving SOBs - bringing the total to around £45)? God forbid there would be a spare gasket but i guess i have to buy the whole kit with bottles and nozzles i dont want or need for that..Love the BB and the guys do a great job with building and developing it but c'mon, a couple of o-rings going to break the bank??
And with the BB itself, if a $300 rta turned up without at least a full set of orings/seals, everyone would be screaming foul so why do people put up with this with the BB. I mean ~$300 and you dont get a spare gasket and glass for the borough??? Sorry guys but that is just cheap imho....

END OF MOAN

I honestly never thought about it that way, I bought the spares kit from bb a long time ago, (for the rev3) I also ordered separately the red gasket for the boro tank, and have never used any of the spares I bought, I bought them just in case. While I understand why you would think that way, I am still using the boro tank with the same gaskets I bought in 2013. :|

I kind of agree with @TheotherSteveS... Didn't the old BB's come with the care kit? I thought they did.. Maybe not the entire contents of the care kit they now sell but it at least came with a bottle, nozzles and gaskets if I remember correctly..

Also, the BB's, while I think they are fairly priced, they are pretty expensive as far as mods go these days.. Heck you can buy a $30 Chinese mod and you get everything included, kitchen sink and all! LOL

I think the BB should come with a care kit and I think when buying a Boro tank it should come with a replacement gasket...

Just a question . . . Has anyone contacted "DD" and maybe asked/suggested any of these as an option for the future? As an example for a Billet Box version 3:

1) Boro Replacement O-Rings Bag
  • 4 Buna-N tank O-rings (1.5mm X 9mm)
  • 2 Buna-N Brass Ring O-rings (1.5 X 5.5mm)
2) Boro Glass & Gasket Replacement Bag
  • 2 Boro Glass windows
  • 4 Orange Silicon Boro Gasket
Once again - Just a thought . . . ;)

I'm sure many people have posed the idea to BBV.

I can't imagine nobody has made mention of it...

It's one thing to not include the extra tank gasket, since those gaskets are likely custom made for BBV...but to not include at least one set of spare O-rings for the top & bottom of the tank has always been strange to me.

I mean, it's been a standard practice of the high-end atomizer makers to include spares...heck, even the cheap China-mizers throw in extras.

Not trying to jump on the bandwagon here and "attack" BBV...just wanted to chime in and stand with the group on this subject.

Hey all!

So I teased you with pictures of an atomizer that I modified to work with the A-tank.

I have since been in touch with the maker of this atomizer, and I've got some questions.

A main concern is the required purchase of the A-tank itself.

Is the additional cost of the A-tank prohibitive to the purchase of the atomizer?

Will people be thrown off by having to buy a special tank for this atomizer?

Apparently BBV didn't think so, as they created and released this option.

That being said, if this atomizer could deliver an airflow range that satisfies both MTL and DTL, would that be enticing enough to warrant the extra cost of buying the A-tank?

--------

If the A-tank becomes the chosen chariot for this atomizer, there would be little redesign required.

They would only be faced with the goal of adding airflow control.

If the standard Boro tank is chosen, the atomizer may need to be redesigned from the ground up...which delays release, and potentially sacrifices features/functions of the current design.

-------

Any thoughts here?

I know a lot of you are MTL users, but there are some DTL peoples here too!

I'm kind of an oddball (goes without saying) in that I can DTL a Kayfun Lite...so a tighter DTL draw does not bother me, nor does an airy MTL draw.

But I'm looking for input from those that are firmly planted on one side of the fence, or the other.

How airy is too airy for an MTL?

How tight is too tight for a DTL?

Can you provide your experience with other atomizers, especially those created for the BBox?

I know vaping is 100% subjective, and everyone finds vastly different things to their own liking.

Thanks in advance!

I really think we are on the verge of helping an established vape company make an atomizer that satisfies a wider range of needs for BBox users, since the current offerings seem to sway too far to either end of the spectrum. (Based on what I've gathered here.)

For what it's worth, I'm strictly a MTL vaper and anything over a 2mm ID exit hole is unusable for me. Closing down air from the outside is not the same effect even if the draw feels the same. If the exit hole under the coil is going to bigger that 2mm, I hope it's much like like 3mm +, that way I can close it down myself using a DIY Teflon reducer or KFV5 MTL kit pin.

My question, too, Bamz.

HB, might you post a pic of this A tank?

Does the bottom plastic piece on the SXK Billet Box Exocet Styled RDA Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer act as an AFC? It is a separate piece that looks like it can be turned to cover the air inlet.
