Kas I had never heard of kiln paper so I did a quick look and found this. Are you sure........ It appears to be imoregnated with a sugar byproduct and turns to ash. I know nothing about it so if I have this wrong can you explain a bit more about it.

What is kiln paper? - Lampwork Etc.

I actually don't really know, my search's kept getting results of kiln paper.

@kas122461 Maybe ceramic fiber paper like this Ceramic Paper | Kiln Shelf Paper | Fiber Paper for Glass Fusing but there are lots of others that come up. I don't know how a piece of Ekowool would work if you placed the coil in the center then wrapped cotton around the outside.

I was really just wanting to figure out how to completely rebuild the old BVC coils just like they were originally made, with the ceramic paper, I did not think it was going to be hard to find the paper.

I did try something with the new coils that I have had some success with, I took one of the new coils that has the large juice holes, and pulled the cap off, then put one of the old cap's with the smaller holes, and put it on instead. At first it did not seem to work very well, I had to give it primer puff's, but after I used it for about a day, it has been working just fine. It has had no leaks, and I have been using it for about 4 days.

How did you take the BVC coil apart.

The coil has the same threads as a protank does, I threaded it onto the base, and just took a pair of pliers to pull the cap off, then pounded the other one back on in it's place, it is just pressed in place.

I never though of doing that hahaha I crushed a few trying to dismantle

I have just figured out how to recoil nautilus coils (horizontal) and used mesh around the outside instead of paper.

Yeah I think I broke one of them also, trying to get it apart, but once I saw how it was put together, I figured switching the caps was the easiest thing to try first.

Also just to point out how awesome DD and BB are, they said to select free shipping and they'd send it Priority mail instead! I still selected and paid for Priority because I don't think they should be out a cent as they have already went far above and beyond what any mod maker would do!

I have a bunch of the old BVC heads, and it looks like the old ceramic paper on the outside, of the used coils can be cleaned and reused, from what I know they used to be a wick that had cotton with the ceramic paper on the inside against the coil, then the coil is inserted into the head, and then another piece of paper wrapped around the outside before the cap is put on. So I could maybe rebuild one head for every 2 old heads that I have. I might try it later after I get more caffeine in me.
