I just rebuilt one of the coils, it looked perfect, checked the OHM's and some how ended up with a .07 OHM coil, not sure how that happened 12wraps of 32 ga Kanthal on 5/64 drill bit, it should have been a lot higher than that. At least I know I can do it, just got to figure out the OHM's.

Well I looked at them under a magnifying glass and there is no joint, I just tried another one, with 34 Ga Kanthal, and checked it before I installed it with my analog meter, and the Ohm's were right at 2.1, after mounting in the head the meter says 1.5 Ohm's, I checked it with my Provari, and it says 6.8 OHM's, I am so confused.

Giving it up for now.

Kas I just opened one of my old ones. It one is NR-R-NR the end wires are a different colour and I can feel the join. It sounds like you have the coil touching the cup.

You are probably right, I could not see a joint though, I don't really feel like messing with it again right now, but it would make sense that the long leg was NR wire, these last 2 coils were a work of art, kind of hate to destroy them.

It has been a long time sense I tried to build coils like these, and the UNO looks like almost the same design, so it is just practice until I get mine on Monday, but also if I could get rebuilding these down right, I should be able to build a vertical coil in the UNO as well.

I guess I could try to do that, I have never made a vid and posted it before though, I am not sure I would want to put it on utube though. Pictures are something I can do very easily though.

I would not have thought so. The diver ceramic (like the aspire BVC) is really small so it's a way of building those really small coils with thin wire.

I just rebuilt a BVC coil head with the same coils I use in my Sophia, I used 400 mesh as the surround and the coil is horizontal with silica wicks. It works and wicks really well in a cerotank. I remembered a trick I found on the Eleaf thread where you screw in the coil to a base then turn a tank upside down and put the driptip hole over the coil head, a couple of rocks of the tank and the casing comes off. Easy. You then use the upside down tank to squeeze the casing back in when you are ready.

It has just been a very long time sense I built these tiny coils from scratch, I think I am using this analog meter wrong, I have been needing a digital one. I am having some better luck with the 34 ga kanthal, just need to get the number of wraps right. I am used to building for a kayfun with 30 ga. Maybe I will just try one with that wire, I am used to using it. I will try again tomorrow with a horizontal coil, these vertical coils are a pain and this is the first time I have tried to build them.

Yeah they are a pain.. Once you get it dialed in though, you are golden!

I use to hate making them for my Diver and I quit using it because of the pain in the rear they were to make...

The Uno will be easier just because no NR-R-NR setup but they are still a minor pain..

I'm super lazy these days though so I might order a 10 pack of those I linked to and see if they fit in the Uno. They should fit but who knows..
