Those pre-made coils I ordered (Kanthal Microcoil - Pack of 10 - 1.4ohm) came today and they appear to be about 2.5mm in diameter. I usually use a 3/32 drill bit to wrap coils and that bit is about a 2.4mm. The drill bit goes in the coil just fine with about .1mm left.
So it appears these will work just fine with the Uno. When I spoke to Bret he said he recommends a 2.5mm wrap. I'll test em out when I get a chance.
