The company does it before they install the chip, I assume. All the 60w come that way.

I believe the dna 60 is user customizable when you have access with USB cable, so he probably either ordered them this way or did it himself during testing.

My guess is it's just to show what versions were made. It's a good reference for collectors (or the nostalgic). Or maybe when demand for new BBs diminishes (HA!) he'll release some special edition Rev3s.

When the chip wakes up, it displays "BILLET BOX" and then the "by Doug Dino" logo, with a little "moo" in the bottom right corner.

The USB header is reachable if you take the front panel off and rig it up. DD is hooking all DNA60's to their's and uploading their configuration before they send them out the door.

I was looking at those, but $26.00? I would have to think twice about it at half the price. I can understand not wanting to use a coin to get the piece out, but $26.00?
