So it seems like my beloved 4a began developing some issues with the chip. When I push the button, it randomly stops firing. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? If yes, are there any solutions other than sending it for service to BBV? If I have to send it in, it's not the end of the world, but if there's any possibility of a quick fix, I'd rather do it myself.

What does the display show when it stops firing ?
Do you get a blank screen or the "check atomiser" message ?
If you can rule out a bad neg path through the atty/carto (it happened to me before) and the battery is ok, then it will probably need returning.

It's a definite possibility. I use the Insider and, when I first got it and was still learning how to wick it properly, it would leak constantly. The issue began manifesting itself right around that time.

The battery is definitely OK. The screen displays the usual information, with the exception of 0.00 voltage reading when it doesn't fire. After pressing the button a couple of times, it fires normally and displays the proper reading.

By way of explanation: I had shipped my precious out for repair on June 26th and UPS would deliver it everywhere except to the Post Office street address as I expected. After it was signed for twice at wrong locations I did a lost package trace and they held it for a corrected address. I got a BBV phone call today and a Facebook message and now everything is gonna be alright.

Next time I need a repair I'm gonna get in the Jeep and drive to Ogden...well, seriously, no I'm not. :tumble:
