So I just watched grimmgreens review of the zephyrus and he wicked it in a strange way. After trimming the wicks, he pointed them upwards and then threaded the first chimney piece on. Then he proceeded to sort of stuff the wicks down to the juice channels using the pointed end of a pair of scissors. He claims that this method allows him to chain vape max vg with no issues on the zephyrus. Does anyone think that this method might work with the Billow V2? I know they have similar styled decks. I also remember Phil Busardo wicking the STM rebuildable deck in this manner. I might try it when I get my replacement glass in from eciggity.

I've never been able to get that method to work really well in any atty with very high VG juice. Unless they are adding a % of water to thin a high VG juice, I'm skeptical. Maybe somehow I'm doing it wrong, but for me at least, wick length and placement are critical to getting really good wicking with thick juice. Just stuffing wick down the chimney won't cut it.

I used to use the "Bunny ea"r method to wick my Lemo tanks. Pulling the long wicks up through the lower chimney half, trimming flush and stuffing down. It works pretty good for them. I have not tried that method with the Billow V2 yet. I have only wicked this tank twice since I got it. First time I used too much cotton, second time it seems good now. I just cut the wicks short enough to just lay in the Juice wells, but not the channels. This seemed to work for me from day one. Let's see how that works after I rebuild it for the first time.

Well I got my billow v2 last week and got the nickel wire today. I immediately wrapped 2 coils (30 ga, Ni200, 10 wraps) for a .07 ohm build. I was able to get them in there even and wicked it up. I don't know the correct way to wick this thing but what I did was to wet the wicks with some juice and then stuff them into the channels. I trimmed one bc it was too long then put the outer chimney piece on then dripped a big more ejuice down there. Then I put the tank on and have been vaping at 500 on my evic-vt and haven't had any problems. I love this thing so far! Amazing clouds for a tank (my first sub-ohm tank experience).

I'm using Muffcake and loving the flavor. Not sure but I think it's max VG.

I trim my wicks to the top of the deck, placed over the juice channels - just like I did for the V1 Billow. The pic below is a Kanthal build but my current nickel build is wicked the same way. The nickel builds will be more forgiving of various wicking methods since temp control should prevent any dry hits associated with improper wicking.

I've seen various people seen building their tanks that way. Not just the Zephyrus.
The Billow, The Cthulhu, Goblin, Lemo......

But you guys finally got me. All your "Praise the lo ... ehm ... Billow" made me order the black one.

My replacement glass from eciggity shipped on Monday and was expected today but tracking still says left Hawaii on Monday :(. I hope usps is running tomorrow. I'm really missing it even though I've been dripping for months. Has anyone else ordered anything from eciggity this week and got it already?

I wouldn't expect to see it tomorrow. July 4 is a postal holiday.

I have a decent amount of 26g and 28g, which dual builds on the Billow V2 would you guys recommend for 0.4 or 0.5 ohms? I'm not a very experienced coil builder but i've done it before, main question: if a coil jig made you 2 perfect coils how crucial is to fire and squeeze with tweezers (it can be tricky for me and I've wrecked coils quite a few times) ?

Thanks

5/6 Wraps 28g, 2.5mm ID should give you a .4/.5 build.

When you pinch the coils, the idea isn't to get them to glow like the filament in a lightbulb. Quick 1-2s pulses will slowly heat it up to a dim glow.

Use 26 gauge. 8/7 around 2.5. I have found that using 28 gauge gives me a lot of gurgling due to some of the wick drooping into the cyclops.

I put a new build in my billow today, same build I'd used before with great results: 5 wrap 2.4mm 26 N80/36 KA1 claptons around 0.25 ohms. Was using it fine on my Stingray X mech and noticed hot juice drops leaking on my chest just from me slightly tilting it to my mouth. I thought i did a good wicking job. Anyone else had really bad leaking like this?
