I've heard that the new anodized bolts have upgraded wiring. Anyone know if that is actually true ? I loved my first bolt but it failed do to the razor thin wire. I tried to fix it but my soldering sucks something horrible. I really want to buy another but not if they have the same craptastic wiring.

Heard the same thing.... Wondering the same thing... Sooooo BUMP.

Still deciding myself if I should pick up a Bolt. To any veteran Bolt users: What's your best set-up for your Bolt? Cheers!

I use my every day, most of the day, with reg size 1.7ohm smoktech cartos in a lil mama tank. Puch my own cartos... It works fantastically!

I think you will need an extension ring for your Bolt if you want to use a Kick

yes i bought an anodized bolt with an extension so i can use kick and 18500 batteries... i just wanted to make sure that the anodized bolt is still conductive so the kick will work..

really want to hear from someone that has an anodized bolt and kicking the crap out of it...

Bad thing about the bolt is if u kick u have to use the extension and u can only use a 18500 battery. To use a 18650 battery u have to use 2 extensions.

Don't you mean the GOOD thing about the Bolt is you can add extensions to use whatever battery configuration you like? I see this as a huge plus, not a bad thing.

Just to clarify a little bit, anodizing is non-conductive. Anodizing is just a fancy word for rapid and controlled oxidation. Electrical current passed through an electrolyte solution (acid bath) produces a thin layer of oxidation. The oxidation binds the free electrons (the ones that that are displaced and move from atom to atom during electrical flow) and prohibits conductivity.

Bare aluminum will oxidize on its own over time (much like steel and rust; iron oxide). This is why thread lubes, or more appropriately; anti-oxidant compounds, such as Noalox are recommended on tube mods. The threads have to pass the full electrical current and if they become oxidized over time the performance of the mod will suffer.
