Has anyone had the paint/coloring of their Bolt come off?
Ive had the gun metal one only 5 days and I just noticed mine is coming off.
Thought it was just staining or tarnish, but it seems that its the actual color coming off and showing the aluminum underneath.
Im thinking my skin/sweat must be acidic as the worn area is right where my palm and fingers touch the device

Yeah also my 1 week old gun metal Bolt presents the same symptoms, I really don't know why, my hands are rather dry... I was blaming the climate (Amazonas) but now it looks more like a defect of the paint.
Guess I will look like a veteran vaper in a week or two with an old and battered looking Bolt
But to me it really don't matters: I love the performance and sturdyness of it

I've only seen one vendor stock them and they were selling them for about $70, at that price I'll pass. If they become available for about $40 I'm all over them.

What??? 70$ is toooo much, way to much!!!
Don't get me wrong: I love my Bolt but for 70 bucks I get rather 2 of the old style painted...
Or perhaps 4 plastic ones and mod them myself in SS tubes.

So I dropped my Bolt lastnite from 6 feet. Thank god it still works fine!!! The finish just got chipped on the top and bottom so i just put some black finger nail polish on it and it is as good as new!!!!!

Ive dropped my chrome bolt about 5 times..only at 3 feet. never even made a mark.

I have a bolt from madvapes. Here recently I hit the button and nothing happens. If I tap it (the cap) while holding the switch in the on position it will light up and then work for a while. Then at random moments it will appear to be dead again. I am not electronic savvy. So before I open it up I wanted to sanity check my "diagnosis". It sounds to me like a loose connection at the switch or the switch is going out. Does that sound about right?

What i have noticed (and i am guessing this will seem obvious) but instead of a 18500 i have a AW IMR 18490, and yes i would have to agree with the Op these are great little work horses.

Seeing as it has a mechanical switch it is unregulated (more Captain obvious moments).

There is only one very small draw back, which is how/when should you change the battery on it? I am asking as i have caught the aw imr down around the 3.0V mark and it is still powering the bolt just fine, so this stopping to test the battery level is like i said a small negative but other then that? I am already planning on getting the chrome version

You can get a bolt at a couple places very cheap. If your spending more then $30.00 - your paying too much.

There's nothing else in there. So, I'd say you're right but, if you're going to go to the trouble of digging out the hot glue (A hair dryer and a small screwdriver will do it.), I wouldn't bother with a diagnosis. I'd just replace both the wiring and switch.

unless your in Canada, and order from those companies, sadly we fall under 'international' rates, so when i got mine for about $44 it was from a local Canadian vendor

thanks good man, was thinking of the telescope, but this thread changed my mind. I like how the top is the same dia. as the body. Now I will say a prayer to the button God for a long life!

I picked up the Telescope during Gotvape's sale... and it's nifty. The way the bottom screws on the top is a pain in the .... for a 14500 battery (probably worse for the 14350) but it does allow something to grip onto when pressing the bottom button.

Still love my chrome Bolt. Dropped it multiple times and dented it fairly badly but it doesn't show much. Then I got a leather holster from SerenityGear Leather and you know what's really cool? My telescope fits it pretty well. I wish the minimum order on Alibaba was just 10. Then we could do a group buy. Fifty...? Not possible. Has anybody seen the anodized bolts anywhere? I really want a red one.
