Man this thing is sweet! Speaking of sweet, what is your sweet spot? Mine is 4.60

I'm with amajn, there isn't just one, it depends on the atty or carto

510 or 4081 carto at 4.0 volts
306 atty at 4.2 volts
302 atty at 4.6 volts
BE112 atty at 5.2 volts

That's all with the same flavor juice, might change if I use a different juice :)

Well, if you are going to use an atty then you will need to use HV attys. Cartos can take whatever you throw at them, that's why I only use cartos.

Regular attys work perfectly fine on the Buzz at 4V-5V.

You opened up any of dem dare cartos of late?

Odd question:

Anyone have any specific 901 -> 510 adapters that they really like? I'm looking for an 'alternative' to the one I ordered with my Buzz from Notcig, as I'm trying to slay a very odd beast here.

Basically, this is my issue: I cannot get the same level of 'taste' out of my 510 cartomizers that I've grown accustomed to with some of my other 5 volt mods, and after dialing up and down the voltage compulsively to try to find 'the spot', I'm now semi-convinced that it just may be the specific airflow that the 901 -> 510 adapter is giving me. When I rig up a 901 -> 801 adapter to one of my tried and true 801 -> 510 adapters, I *seem* to be getting better results in terms of taste. So, either I'm totally nuts, or it's the 901 -> 510 adapter that is somehow not allowing me to taste my liquids as much as I'd like to.

So, does anyone know where I can get a 901 -> 510 adapter that is *different* from the ones that Notcig is selling? I'm looking for something with slightly thicker walls, like my 801 -> 510 adapters, if that makes any sense. ;-)

Thanks!

Another thought regarding my post above:

Does anyone else notice a 'taste drop-off' of any sort when using the Buzz compared to another PV at a similar voltage? I'm really dead-set on solving this mystery, since I love this thing and want it to perform exactly as I want it to.

I've also been wondering if it could possibly have anything to do with the airflow that results from the downward-sloped center post screw - does this sound at all possible? If so, would using a flat headed screw potentially resolve it?

Grasping at straws here, I know. Any input would be appreciated. ;-)

Synth you might be onto something there , airflow WILL effect taste because of the mixture of air to vapor ratio ?

this is a subjective area and would be hard to define , BUT I am sure that there is a correlation ( hey lets get Marlboro to test it for $1,1001001010101010 )
anyhow IF you find a solution lets us all know , I have not has this problem .

I have some flat head screws and some slotted screws in stock , I am also getting some small rubber O-rings to try out Witchways setup so we can make the center screw adjustable. This might help ??????????

Yea, I think that the airflow is the issue, after lots of consideration. There is certainly a 'taste gap' with cartomizers right now. I can't notice any real difference at all dripping with a standard 510 atty, but there's a major difference with the 510 cartos.

...and it's driving me mad. ;-)

I NEED to somehow get the taste amped up, as it's kind of ruining it for me right now. If you or anyone else comes up with either a permanent or interim solution, I'm all ears. I need to match the taste I'm getting with my other mods so that I can put them back on the shelf already.

Thanks!

Is the airflow LOWER or Higher on the Buzz vs your other mods ?

Lets try to troubleshoot the issue.

The draw feels just a tad tighter on the Buzz, a bit more 'restrictive'. Also, the hit feels a lot 'dryer', even though I cannot for the life of me explain what I mean by that. I've played with various adapters and screw-on orders to mess with the draw, but nothing has given me a mentionable result.

If you're asking about the physical placement of the center post, my other mods have the center post just about flush with the top of the threads. Also, my other mods have a solid brass center post with no screw scores in it, surrounded by a thin delrin ring that separates it from the outer threads. There is no open 'space' to speak of, if that makes sense.

So, I'd like to come as close to duplicating this as possible. Somehow. Some way. Pretty please? ;-)

Thanks Buzz!

Well it is a 2mm x .4 thread screw , I have flat heads and slotted heads here , maybe go to a hardware store and see what they have or I could send some to you to try .
Like I said I am getting parts to test Witchways setup ( adjustable center post ) .

If the draw is tighter/harder then there is LOW airflow ! we would need to increase the airflow in that case .
maybe drill a small hole in the adapter ?

I actually think the draw is about 'even' in tightness, after a little more A/B testing. It just seems to be something about the direction / positioning, as if the taste isn't...'focused'.

Also, I've tried numerous other adapter configurations to no avail. Going from a 901 -> 801 to a 801 -> 510 adapter didn't change a thing. Even regular 808 cartos lack taste in a big way. So, I don't think it's something I can remedy with an adapter, at least not yet. ;-)

I'd be willing to try other screws, but after my last disassembly fiasco I'm hesitant to try anything - especially since my unit is sealed tight now!

Thanks again.

What is the other mod you are trying to match ?

It might just be a voltage issue !!!

Both a Prodigy V1 with the 5 volt contact disc, and a Prodigy V2 with the 5 volt contact disc. These both deliver an almost identical hit, and I'm pretty darn familiar with the loaded voltages of both units.

The V2 runs loaded at about 5.3 with fresh batts, and the V1 runs at about 5.2. Trust me, I've tried everything up and down the spectrum on the Buzz, and I can't replicate the taste. 'Tis driving me bonkers. ;-)

PS - I'm using the Trustfire 880mAh 16340's (from Notcig) in the Buzz.
