The Chuck tail cap spring - insertion.

When the spring has come out of the tail cap, what is the best method of getting it back in? I have tried spinning it and pushing it, but do not want to deform the thing as it is a loaner. A search here did not bring anything up. though it was probably covered it is difficult to see as Chuck is mentioned in nearly every thread here on ecf

Should just need to coax it a little to slide back down in and hold securely, if it doesn't do that then it's already deformed. I can pull mine out and pop it back in with little stress on either part but it holds securely enough that it'll only come out if I actually force it to by pulling it.

ever the brilliant one, I took the spring out of my primary cap to see how it went back in in case the other was deformed. Nope. Now neither of them have springs in.

Thanks to physics, I can use it without the spring seated by flipping it over. I will try every now and again, maybe i'll figure it out

Place the the large round end of the spring against the opening at a slight angle (maybe 30 degrees). Press it into the end cap hole while twisting the spring from the small end in a clockwise motion. The twisting should cause the big round side to get slightly smaller and it will slide right in there.
