Now listen!! I just placed an order with liberty flights... Peach, white peach, apricot and mandarin. Forgot the sassafras and now I need molasses too? Those will have to wait. I'm on the hunt now for a decent atty. waddya think? 306 or 510? I need a good one for tasting, my cheap ones are junk. I'm using twists at 4.5-4.8.

I find Hanna's atty's a lot quicker to clean and maintain and so far the three I have are 4 months old and still kicking like new. They are a great value IMHO. I spent a lot on hardware, trying almost all the popular carto's, atties and clearo's. As far as taste, vapor production and ease of use, not to mention cleaning and maintenance I think Kanger bottom and horizontal clearo's and XL carts are the best. The new EVOD's are phenomenal and the HCXL LR carts are great. I use those along with the HH357's and SR & LR510 drippers almost exclusively now. I don't see a use for cart tanks and the A7 & Genesis type mods I have don't give the kind of taste I want to warrant all the mesh oxidation and coil wrapping. It can be fun, but not something I personally enjoy enough to use a lot of the time.

Oh, and to stay on topic let me say that Hickory Smoked and Pecan is putrid, horrible, awful, insidiously rotten and maggot like. I don't like it. :p:ohmy::ohmy::unsure:

LOL boomer.... I was feeling bad last night because I seem to have thrown your thread way off base! I apologize for that. I was looking at that HH357 last night. I was "this close" to hitting the place order button! But then I think, do I really need to spend that kind if money on something to do taste testing with? Gawd, this is worse than shoe shopping!! One of my big complaints with the attys I have is that they leak. Maybe all I really need is a drip shield. Today is one if those days where I'm thinking.... What did I get myself into?

Always good to think twice before you make a decision.

LOL! If you look at pretty much any thread you'll see they go off on all kinds of tangents. One poor guy asked about small nicotine amounts and me and another poster spent most of the thread arguing about who had the best prices. So, faggetabouddit!

The carto special at Avid has LR or SR510's 2 plus a drip tip for $20. That's a good deal.

They're the best IMHO. They will last way longer than a pack of SmokTech cartos. Carefully clean them properly and they can last for more than a year. Of course that info comes from the owner of AV. I can attest only to four months and still working like new. When you get yours let me know if you need any info. I think there's a video by Dmitri on the SR510 IRC. Try searching Vapeteam and Dmitri or LR510 dripping atty on Youtube.

If you were trying for a cool honey flavor try Koolada. It doesn't have any flavor and doesn't seem to change other flavors. I haven't used it with just one flavor yet but in 3 -4 flavor recipes it works great with just a drop per 10 mls.

Just Sassafras huh......... I wonder ...? Nah. How is it? Does it have a root beer flavor? I was thinking of adding it to Cream Soda.

I did order the 510 attys from avid last night, and they shipped today! I will look those up on YouTube (thanks boomer!) I guess I don't really know the proper technique for cleaning an atty,,,, perhaps that's why I don't have much luck with them!

I second the koolada. I have some, used it in one of my concoctions and it doesn't change the flavor at all, just a nice cool feeling to it. And just a few drops is all it takes.

Haven't run across any combos to avoid yet but I'm workin on it. :)

Cream mixes are tough. The good ones all contain diacetyl. Bavarian seems to be the cream of choice for a lot of DIYers. I think a neutral cream flavor is best without sweetener or vanilla. I use whipped cream and leave it at that.

I recently did a drip taste test run-off in my IGO-L, and found VZ's SC Cream to be my favorite. Here are my notes on creams and some related flavors -

VZ Cream 8.5 Y this is as good as any of my “creams” Nice and rich

RTS Catalan Cream 7 M A bit sweeter and with more vanilla

RTS Vienna Cream 8 Y very similar to above, but a bit better

VZ Caramel Candy 7 M Mild and sweet

Dekang Cream 3 N Not as pure tasting. Use it and lose it.

Dekang Caramel 4 N Same, with a touch of coconut

VZ Caramel 8 Y More like toasty toffee. Nice, but certainly a burnt sugar taste in there.

Dekang Butterscotch 5 N Best of the DK's here. Tastes like a butterscotch drop hard candy and blends well with the VZ Caramel

RTS Custard 4.5 N Not as strong as I gathered from previous use. Doesn't over power the remaining butterscotch still in the drip wick like I expected. A bit of an off/plasticy taste, but not horrible. No need to re-stock it though

RTS Almond 7 M/N Much like a coffee almond flavor additive. It's ok

RTS Nut Mix 7.5 M Ok, a toastier mix, but not obviously “nutty”, so much. I still like it better than the almond. Quite mild at current concentration (5%)

VZ Vanilla 6.5 N Vanilla with a touch of cinnamon. Ok, but not a true vanilla taste.

GeJ French Vanilla 8 N Rich Vanilla. This is way better than the VZ

RTS Bourbon Vanilla 8 Y Just like the GeJ. Nice! So I have one that's right. This is a good mixer, and what I like in a vanilla flavor. Sort of what I wanted from “custard”, but that one is not so good.

#'s are my rating 1-10, Y/N/M is would I buy it again
