That's really great VV. I look forward to being smoke free that long. :) And it will happen because I don't want to smell like I have something dead in my purse

I am always curious about the what started people vaping. Here's mine:

For those that don't know, I was an OTR trucker. I smoked at least 2 PAD. It was the middle of the night and I was signing my fuel slip somewhere in MT (I won't break into song here, I promise). They had those blister packs with one disposable e-cig in it. I stared at it for the longest time, then spent the $7.99. What the heck, same price as a pack of smokes some places. Back in the truck I tried it out and liked it. While it didn't equal 2 packs like the package claimed, I also did not need to open my window (cold out),and it tasted decent. It didn't stop me from smoking, but it did get me to start looking for something that would work for me. Three weeks later, my kit arrived at the hut. Two days later I was proud to announce my smoke free status. Pretty darn good after 37 years of smoking!

What's your story?

Excellent story FV! And as they say the rest is history. We are ALL grateful that you bought that first disposable. Without you, there would be no CC. Without CC, I might not be here to share my story. So... I'll bite.

I smoked for 20 years. Just before my 40th birthday I decided to finally take quitting seriously. So I stuck on a patch, and never took another drag off a cigarette for more than 5 years. Then, in all my infinite wisdom, I decided that smoking wasn't really so bad. So Jan of 2011 I started smoking again. Just one or two, then just 10, and in one months time I was back to two packs a day. I hated the way I felt and the way I smelled and the way the cigarettes tasted, but I did like the nicotine. I was watching a really bad show on TV, can't even remember what it was but it was so bad it got cancelled after half a season. One of the characters was using an e-cig to quit smoking. Probably an 808 or a 510 stick style. I didn't even know anything like that existed. I don't get out much here in Maine. But I did the research, found out it wasn't just a prop and promptly ordered one of the most overpriced 808 kits on the market. The day after it arrived, I landed on ECF.

There were familial health issues that kick started my thinking about quitting but it wasn't really enough to make it happen. We bought our house in 2009 and we smoked inside. We started talking about quitting but never really did anything about it. Then I decided I wanted to paint the downstairs and I said when i did there would be no more smoking indoors. SO I sat on the back porch for 6 months. I cam in when I had to pee or was hungry  Then a friend came down to the river house and he had an ecig. He let me take a drag and I was impressed. I started looking around and doing some research online. It also gave me time to make up my mind that i was going to love this electronic cigarette thing and I was going to make it work. Thomas and I smoked 2 PAD of Camel Menthol each. We were forking over a lot of money for cigarettes. I kept chatting himup about it and got him on board as well. We were both pretty excited when the kit came. I quit smoking the first full day after the kit came and never looked back. That was September 1st 2011 . Thomas continued smoking for almost 3 weeks afterwards (but he greatly reduced the amount of them per day, he was smoking about 5,which was great) , couldn't let those cigarettes go to waste

Great stories! I was on the manufacturers forum for about a week and people were talking about "ecf" which I of course didn't have any clue about. Then I got informed and ended up here. Went to look for juice, not too long after that and found great juice and you fine people :)

Good morning everyone! I am a relatively new vaper and have been wading through looking for different juices and I am very interested in trying out some CC juice. I am not a big tobacco flavor fan, with that being said, if you had to pick a top 3 which would you get?

9/27/11 my first CC post. Awwwww makes me nostalgic. Makes me realize how smart I am for making a stellar choice :D
Also makes me realize it only took me 3 weeks to make really bad juice decisions before i found my way here. I spent a ton of money on bad juice before that post

Yes, count yourself incredibly lucky. You wasted 3 weeks, I wasted 3 months going through bad juice. I think Ben might be the luckiest of all of us. If I recall correctly, he found CC first time out. Smart boy...

Down the rabbit hole..
Guys you sharing your stories is so wonderful..
I'll share mine.

I smoked for 35+ years quitting and restarting quite a few times but it never stuck. On black Friday in 08 my daughter and I were shopping in a mall. She drug me
over to a Smoke 51 kiosk to show me e-cigs as I had never heard of them. The guy let me try it and my daughter kept pushing me to buy it. I walked away while she kept at me...Mom please quit smoking..finally I went back and bought it as it was half priced (still greatly overpriced I learned later) and to shut her up. I figured I would just tell her I quit and use it when she was around. I got it home and started vaping it and I liked it and as I vaped I realized I was going outside for a cig less and less. Then in April I was googling for e-cig info and found ecf. Ordered a 901 and 401 kit, not many choices back then. When I got them and finally had decent batt life I was vaping more... then realized a couple of days later at 10pm that night..gee I haven't had a cig or wanted one all day. I had quit..Lol
