Oh James. I,m so sorry. I hope everything is o.k. Will try to check in a little more.i have missed a lot.
Good evening folks.
It was really odd weather today. When we got out of bed, it was 66 degrees. By the time we were done with CJ's thing, it was 55 and it was raining. Yeah, you read that right. In 6 hours time, the temps actually dropped from 66 to 55 by 10:30... By the time Kat and I left for practice, it had turned into a BEAUTIFUL day with temps about 70.
Sorry for the lack of update. We were up at 4am, dropped the kids off with the in laws in Charlotte, drove to the Levine Children's Hospital. We got there at 6 for a 6:30 appt, and it was nearly 9 before they took us back. I went back with CJ while Mrs E waited in the room. Its not an easy feeling watching your kids fall asleep like that. They found that his epiglotis and adinoids ( airway flaps) were stretched, floppy, and slightly swollen. The doc thinks that it was caused from his last round of croup causing him to struggle to breathe, literally pulling those flaps into his airway and stretched them out. There is also a slight (20%) blockage in his trachea, just passed the voice box. He was born with that, but the doc felt that it isnt anything to worry about. Kids with 80-90% blockages that get operations done can only hope to reach a 20% blockage. Basically, there isnt anything we need to worry about right now. As long as we keep doing what we are doing, and do the best we can to keep him healthy, there is no need to operate on the flaps or the blockage, though it is an option if he continues to suffer, or has one really bad attack. He did really well coming out of the anesthesia, with no dementia, or vomiting. As soon as we got home, we ALL took a nap. We got up in time for to take the beater car to the shop, then I got to take Kat to practice. Doing some of those drills worked me just as hard as the girls. Im gonna be sore in the morning. We also got our uniforms today. Neon green on black. They actually look pretty good.
We get to get up early (but not 4am early) in the morning too. Mrs E has a dentist appt at 8am, and I get to take Melanie to her doc for a round of shots. Then when all of that is done, I get to try one more time to get the lawn mower running. If I fail, I get to load it up on a borrowed trailer and take it to the small engine repair shop up the road. Once all of THAT is done, Im hoping for enough time to play with the boat. I pulled a couple of batteries that we were going to toss away at work. Im thinking I can get at least some of the electrical wired up. Im also hoping to get to the gas tank to check if any of the old gas has turned into a nice sludge or not. Then of course, there is practice again tomorrow night. The last one. Our scrimmage game is at 7:30pm Friday, and our first game at 10:45 Saturday morning.
