Me too..Every time...Bar none..We can all be sitting around sipping wine talking Obama and Romney or a woman's right to choose, the economy, global warming and someone always has to bring up conventional flow vs. electron flow and the shiest hits the fan every time. When we're out with friends I just cringe knowing the topic will rear it's ugly head..

I remember getting into HEATED ummmm, debates over conventional flow vs. electron flow, and worse. I don't want to blow any fuses in this thread though. :)

Could I get a translator?...
I'm in the same boat. I remember waaaaaaaay back when I had to SUFFER through actual drafting classes, with paper, pencils, and rulers to the 1/64th of an inch. I asked why we had to suffer though that before moving onto CAD and other typical mainstream tools, and I was told by my professor(s) ................ "Because".

I am glad that we WERE able to use calculators on day one, and NOT abacuses. My brain prefers to design, troubleshoot, and view circuits conventionally.

That reminds me of a funny hospital story - one day the whole lot of us gimps (we're all in rehab for various spinal injuries, prosthesis, etc.) are attending to our various therapies and we hear what must be an ice cream truck. A tried and trued playground style ice cream truck.

Slowest. Stampede. EVARR.

For Janie and others. Here is a handy-dandy chart to help with voltage selection. Check your ohm resistance on your ProVari, then check the chart. Set your voltage as close to 8 as you can for best results. Example: If your atty/clearo/nova head reads 2.0 ohms on your ProVari check, set your voltage at 4. Easy as that. :) Edit: Okay chart is a little small, so here is a link to full size.

    Very nice !!!!!

I'm sure the whole Volts, Amps, Ohms thing can be confusing at first for some, but as the chart shows above, the LOWER the resistance (or res) of your atty/carto is, the LESS voltage you can run.

The problem I ran into was I had some very low res cartos sitting around and dialed my Provari all the way down to the bottom, and still I was getting errors on every other vape, that is why (I think) higher res attys/cartos are recommended.

Also...lol...here is an Ohms Law calculator which is totally awesome. Put in the wattage you want to vape at (8 for me) and the atty resistance (ohmss)...zero the other two fields out, click calculate and bingo! It tells you exactly the volts to set it at.

Edit: Make sure you put the drop down current box on milliamps.

Just GREAT, now I have to throw out my abacus !!!!!!!

    :toast:

Soooo Mr. SpicyMcHaggis, what you are trying to tell me is, if I vape my Boge 3.0 ohm cartos, at 5.0v on my Provari, I'm pulling 1.667A of current, which means, if someone WERE to send me ONE of their Darwin's, I could dial it into 8.3W and all would be well with the universe ???

    :)

I spent a good while looking at that trying to figure out what data he was trying to visualize.. I saw "China" so geopolitics kicked on but nothing else rang a bell. So I'm checking Blackfive and Havoc for street name designations on "Sabian" and "Splashes" - nada. And then I'm still struggling to figure out how that data is plotted regardless of what the topOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*facepalm* *headdesk*

    Could I get a translator?...

When designing pretty much everything, including electronic circuits, the standard for some time has been using computers, and programs to do so. Back in the waaaaaaay back, this was done using actual drafting tables, paper, pencils, erasers, etc. For whatever reason in the early circuit design classes, rather than allow us to just start using the industry standard (what everyone else was using and still are), we had to do countless hours of design using the drafting method, which we felt was a waste of time. Why would they make us use that method ??

It would be like sending your kids to driving school, and they started out using horse and buggies, and after much trial and error, finally moved on to actual gas powered cars.
