Sorryville
Ive spent the last two hours surfing websites like Beretta and Taurus. Im thinking really hard about continuing to save so I can get one of THESE. Now I just need to paruse local firing ranges to see if I can find one with that pistol to "test drive".

But for now, I think I need to walk a couple of mutts. Cocoa is doing her peepee dance.

Goodnight everyone!!!

If you ever think the wife will shoot it, get it in 9mm. Mine hates shooting the .40.

I hear ya. It was a real experience.

Stretchy you are right...you have to pay attention when
in the hospital anymore...if you aren't able to then you need
someone staying with you who can...
I stayed with my Mom around the clock in there....and when I had
to leave for awhile she would tell them to wait and talk to me before
doing anything to her....she wouldn't have lived near as long as she did
if I hadn't stayed..

That's way too scary. I think the er people are always tired.I wish you could call it in but you're kind of stuck with who's on duty and how long they have been working.

You have to pay attention, or they could mess up! When I was in the ER after the car accident, they gave me the clothes Andy had brought in and told me I could get dressed and go home. I tried, I really tried. But five minutes later, I'm still sitting in the same position, drenched in sweat and near tears from the pain in my back and knee. I couldn't get one piece of clothing on, everything hurt too badly. But they were ready to release me, after getting hit by a car, without ever doing x-rays! Un-freaking-believable!

My Dad went in for Carpel Tunnel to have fixed. They were going to remove his appendix. They kept looking for the x on the abdomen. His x was on his wrist.. Same hospital-same Dad. Had to have surgery on the arteries in his leg.I went to the cafeteria for coffee and I run into his surgeon. He let the student intern operate and stepped out for some Java..My sister and I just looked at each other. What could you do?

Evening Posse.

I remember, quite a few yrs ago, a guy was in a hospital in Tampa and they amputated the wrong leg. Do you remember that VV?

Down the rabbit hole..
Evening Posse.

I remember, quite a few yrs ago, a guy was in a hospital in Tampa and they amputated the wrong leg. Do you remember that VV?

Yes I remember..that guy was a frequent patient...he was a non-compliant diabetic who had let his diabetes get so far out of control
both legs had no circulation left, were covered in sores, black and they had already amputated toes on both feet. He actually needed both legs amputated
but he wouldn't have survived the surgery, so the decision was made to do one at a time..they chose the leg that was slightly worse than the other.
In the OR the tech prepped the other leg....when the surgeon came in, he looked at both then mputated the marked one. (a Dr friend of mine was actually in the room observing during the surgery). After surgery, the nurse discovered the consent form leg wasn't the one removed so being honest she informed the surgeon who in turn told the family. The family, wanting to sue, went to the media. The media never told the real story. Willie, the patient, was transferred to another hospital and his other leg was removed. Family got money and everyone was convinced poor Willie lost a good leg. He was in a wheelchair and had been for years before the surgeries...and same after!..:laugh:

the er along with most areas of hospitals nowadays are horribly understaffed...
and they typically don't use enough RN's so you get less trained nurses....
I hate being a patient..its exhausting having to watch everybody that touches
me...I've kept more than a few from doing stupid things...
no one that I love is left alone for long when they're patients...

Mornin' Folks. Gonna be another busy day. After work, I need to get my bucket of softballs to my asst coach so she can run tonight's practice by 5:30, then I get to head to my daughters' school for a PTO meeting/singing concert by 6:00. Then tomorrow is team pictures for Melanie and CJ at 5:45, Mine and Kat's pix at 6:45, and then Im going to try to speed to the dirt track by 7:30. It wouldve helped if I had remembered about the team pix before I set up the group trip to the dirt track, but my brain failed me yet again.

If you ever think the wife will shoot it, get it in 9mm. Mine hates shooting the .40.
I was leaning towards the .40, but thats a good point. Years ago, when I made her go to the range with me, she was pretty good with the Beretta M9, but was only able to throw one round out of a .45 1911. Her biggest complaint with the 9mm wasnt the recoil, but the ejected brass. If I can find her a decent .32 or .25 revolver, it may help. But Ive gotta get MINE first! :D

Good Morning Posse! Hope everyone is doing well today!

My surgeon put an X, and wrote his name on the shoulder that was to be operated on. Front and back. Thanks Doc! But I was shocked that they let me determine when I was ready to go home. I have no recall of signing out, or walking to the parking lot. Yep, they let me sign and walk. Good thing Mr. V was there to drive or I probably would have tried. I was not very happy when I found out about it the next day. At home.
