WTF is wrong with parents these days?!?!? Is the ONLY reason they sign their kids up for a sport JUST to get a trophy?!?!?

For three weeks, our post season party has been planned. THREE WEEKS. Out of 13 girls, only THREE families have said they can make it. Out of the other 9, only one said three weeks ago they wouldnt be able to make it. Of the remaining 8, I havent gotten a single reply from 4. Out of the other four, three are JUST NOW telling me they cant come, and one said they would come, but havent told me how many will be there.

Thanks for a great season, here's your crap piece of plastic trophy, dont let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya..?

Why even bother with signing your kid up for anything, if you arent going to support them throughout the ENTIRE season, including the post season party?! Granted, all it is going to be is a family vs players game and some pizza and presenting the trophies, but DANG...

As a parent sitting on a baseline, I spent years wishing the coaches would tell us more, get back to my questions, pass out more info quicker.... Now that Im a coach, I get the same crap from the parents side... I just dont get it....

My House Blend and Cheesecake came! Now I don't have to stalk the Postmaster General.:2cool: I have a feeling I'm already on the Governments watch list. Stalking the Mailman in Chief surely wouldn't have helped.

How long does the House need to steep? it was born 7/5...I can't wait!

Anyone else find that vaping all these sweet treats has curbed their appetite for real sweets? I swear this is happening to me.

Wow...surgeries, broken bones, marauding coons, pet deaths, we're some kind of crew around here.

Like Jd said... there is a WIDE range of personal opinions on that... and almost every one of them is different. I prefer it aged for months... JD likes it right from the mail... James likes it any way he can get it.....
errr... sorry James....
James likes House at any age! ;)

I think it is a combination of many factors James... I see where you are coming from, but perhaps they simply are working at the time of the party and can not get leave from work. You know how bosses can be... particularly right now when noone can afford to lose their job... if the boss says you have to work that night... you have little leverage right now. :/

Of course I am trying to put the best possible spin on the situation, but that may well be true in a couple of cases at least.

Spicy: We are interesting. That's the word, right?

James: don't get me started about people these days.... :grr:

Interesting certainly does... and so does unique... or in my case perhaps a little insane! :D

But caring... the group of people I have met here are some of the most warm and caring individuals that you will ever meet! The ones that aren't are unlikely to stick around. ;)

So, everyone knows I had to speak up when it comes to House. Try it fresh. Then try not to drink it. Then try it again after a week, and its harder to not drink. Then try it again in two weeks. Then you may not be able to resist putting a straw in it. IMO, two weeks is when House really starts coming into its own. After a month, its perfect, and then gets better than perfect as it continues to steep.

Sure, lets go with interesting.

I just dont get it... Yeah, go play a sport, but I wont support anything you do while you play, Ill show up long enough to drop you off, but wont stay and watch. Oh wait, you want to go to the trophy ceremony, nah, Im too busy and quite frankly dont care. As long as you get your trophy.

At 6-8 at night? On a Friday? I know I have one parent that works third shift. And another that works out of town a lot. But each of them have a spouse. I just dont get it.

At 6-8 PM on Fridays both my wife and I are working right now. I work until 11PM Friday nights... she works until midnight. Also, my class schedule changes every 3 months so it is different nights when I work late each quarter, so their schedule may have changed! Now admittedly, my step-daughter is 16, so that makes it easier for both of us to be gone until late at night, but it does happen.

I work from 8AM until 11PM on Fridays this quarter... my wife works from 3PM until Midnight. :(

Yeah, I can see what the hype about House is all about. It's pretty tasty at five days old. And in a brand new Vivi Nova tank no less. Once the tank breaks in and if more steeping helps, it's really gonna be something. Fine concoction, FV!

Yes... House is a real winner... surprisingly enough though... I like some of FV's other creations even better! Buttered Rum is almost worth killing someone for! Which might be why I ordered some more for my wife before she looked at my dwindling supply and was tempted!

I think a lot of people, not all, just don't want to take the time out of their lives to do anything that isn't necessary. I personally don't take my kids anywhere and just drop them off unless it's a friends house to play for the day. Heck, I'm paranoid about just letting mine out in the front yard alone.

Whatever their reasons are, its crap. They should be doing everything they can to support them in the sport they enrolled them in, and in life in general. Thats why I volunteered to be a coach. I couldnt stand the thought of my daughter not getting to play because no one stepped up to do it, knowing that I could have. It just sucks for the kids. And obviously, it gets me slightly worked up when I get no parental support.

just got back from my grandmas house...she made homemade mac and cheese, fried cabbage, and homemade cornbread. But of course it was all fat and calorie free ;-)
mmmmmmm. Homemade AND calorie free?!? Thats the best kind!
