I will have to think on this. Because I bought the special carto tool from CC, I've been having ZERO issues refilling. Pop off the d.tip, insert the tool, slide the Phiniac up to about even with the top of the tool, fill to almost the top of the tank, then slide the tank back down. I don't think I'm pressurizing any juice into the carto as I never take the tool out until done, and I never take the caps off. Will have to think on this.
I think Drott is right. It's been my experience that the xl cartos clog faster. I still get a good life out of them, but a tank and a half on an XL carto is still 9ml. An xl carto is only designed to hold 1.4ml of juice and then toss. I know people try and get more, I do it myself, but that's not an entirely realistic expectation. One tank full is already more than Boge designed the carto to hold. More is icing, but one should be good enough.
