Just finished my annual health assesment. Its not mandatory, but if you dont do it, the insurance company adds $1000 to your deductible...
My blood pressure was 106/80
Ive gotten a 1/2 inch less tall. Thank you DDS.
I cant remember the numbers, but my cholesterol was below optimal (a good thing)
My HDL (the good cholesterol) was low. My LDL was REALLY low.
And they said my between my height, weight, and gut, Im a little tubby, but really not too bad. But I already knew that. My BMI was a 31, but they said it doesnt account for the fact Im just a big guy. If it were an accurate measurement, I would really be closer to 25-28 (just their guess).
My blood sugar was perfect, which is a good thing since diabetes runs in my family, on both my mom's and dad's sides.
And how do you celebrate a positive health screening? You guessed it! Moe's Southwest Grill and on plate of nachos that tops out at over 1500 calories.
My daily limit isnt supposed to be over 1400. And I still need to eat dinner....
My wife, however.... shes in trouble. Her BP was 129/95 (not bad, but could be better)
Her LDL alone was higher than my total cholesterol count. Her HDL was way too low, trigleceryides were almost off the charts. Im not going to say the number, but they told her she was overweight.
High cholesterol and obesity run in her family, along with diabetes, congestive heart failure, and hypertension. She already said that her numbers have her concerned today, Which they should, but Im hoping that its enough to start doing better with diet and activity. All the years I fuss at her never sunk in. Maybe this will.
