Just finished my annual health assesment. Its not mandatory, but if you dont do it, the insurance company adds $1000 to your deductible...

My blood pressure was 106/80
Ive gotten a 1/2 inch less tall. Thank you DDS.
I cant remember the numbers, but my cholesterol was below optimal (a good thing)
My HDL (the good cholesterol) was low. My LDL was REALLY low.
And they said my between my height, weight, and gut, Im a little tubby, but really not too bad. But I already knew that. My BMI was a 31, but they said it doesnt account for the fact Im just a big guy. If it were an accurate measurement, I would really be closer to 25-28 (just their guess).
My blood sugar was perfect, which is a good thing since diabetes runs in my family, on both my mom's and dad's sides.

And how do you celebrate a positive health screening? You guessed it! Moe's Southwest Grill and on plate of nachos that tops out at over 1500 calories. My daily limit isnt supposed to be over 1400. And I still need to eat dinner....

My wife, however.... shes in trouble. Her BP was 129/95 (not bad, but could be better)
Her LDL alone was higher than my total cholesterol count. Her HDL was way too low, trigleceryides were almost off the charts. Im not going to say the number, but they told her she was overweight.
High cholesterol and obesity run in her family, along with diabetes, congestive heart failure, and hypertension. She already said that her numbers have her concerned today, Which they should, but Im hoping that its enough to start doing better with diet and activity. All the years I fuss at her never sunk in. Maybe this will.

Locked myself out of my truck at the gas station. Waiting for a policeman friend to come unlock it for me. Hubby at work an hour away.:banghead:

Sent from my HTC EVO on Taptalk.
I locked myself out of a building two days ago. So, I know that feeling well.

Look at the bright side... your Wednesday could have ended at midnight and your morning start at 4AM. ;) Mine did!
I was close to that. I was in bed at 12 and up at 5.

Smart Man! :toast:

Had you posted any of the specifics you would no longer be celebrating your good health as you would be in either pain or traction!

Yeah... I'm used to getting home at midnight... I got to sleep around 1:30 and was out the door at 4:30 this morning... that out the door at 4:30 was the part that hurt though. :(

Good job on the health exam James! My BP yesterday was 83/48! You wife and my hubby are in the same boat. I just can't get him to eat right. I don't buy any crap when grocery shopping, yet when he goes he comes home with the chips & sauce, cheese dip, fritos, french onion dip and he eats out everyday at lunch. Although he did put his pedometer back on and is trying to do 10,000 steps a day. My son begs him to at least go walking with him, (he can't run because of shin splints), and where does he want to walk to? Cold Stone. Its a 4 mile walk there, so he figures he'll burn the caleries on the walk home

Glad your Darwin arrived Drott....happy vaping.

Note: This is yet another reason why you should never purchase a "Home" version of any Windows operating system... they give you about 40% of the functionality, assume the user is an idiot (much like apple there), for nearly the same cost as professional.

So I'm an idiot because I use an Apple that has not once ever had a problem in its entire life???? HMMM???

No...

But Apple assumes you are an idiot and will not let you truly customize or choose what version of software that you wish to use. Sorry that was directed at Apple assuming their users are computer illiterate... which is my major complaint with them. A Windows machine you can make it do whatever you want it to if you go into the guts of the OS... Apple will not allow you to do that.

They "protect you from yourself"... and hence they assume their users are idiots.

My only other complaint is that their hardware and software is proprietary... which lets them charge an arm and a leg for it compared to everyone else rather than following standards. They are getting better about it... at least you can finally run Boot camp and have both OS's on the same computer. I used to be an Apple fan in the 80's until they made one too many changes that moved away from everyone else and made all of your old apple hardware incompatable with the next version... that was when they lost me.

Vape break... What is this thing I keep having to do??? It makes me sweat and feels like...pain...tourture...busy...almost like work. I dont like it.

Afternoon posse! Checking in from, perdido key. Y'all can't hate me, I'll still love ya ;) time to head to the beach!
Oh yes we can. No matter how much love (in a completely hetero manly way of course) you have, we can still hate you. Until you come back to work. Sallie was right on that point.

There's a reason I said "less tall". I had a feeling that SOMEone would try to read that the wrong way. :lol

Nonono... I wouldnt be in any pain. I would be d-e-d dead. All I can say is that she weighs more now than she did before three kids, and weighs less than me. And that is as detailed as it will EVER get.

Getting up with less than 6 hours of sleep is murder on me first thing in the morning. But once I get going, I can make it through the day without much trouble.

Yea good to know you'll be around a good long long time for me to torment.:lol:
Yes indeed ma'am. Yes indeed. :D

83/48?!?! Are you sure youre still alive?!? I fuss at the wife everytime she comes home from the store. And of course, the Nutella discovery didnt help.

I know all about shin splints. When I was still in the navy, I got reffered to a doc in the hospital to do a bone scan. After looking at the results, he couldnt understand how I was walking without crutches. My shin splints developed into stress fractures. Lots of them. It took years for them to heal enough to where I could walk with no pain. Now, I can run short distances without them hurting for too long. But found out that the sudden starts and stops involved with volleyball is too hard on my shins. We've done three or four days of softball stuff and I had no problems the next day. After 30 minutes of volleyball, my legs are still hurting today. Im going to have to try an ice massage when I get home.

Walking to Cold Stone?! That is CLASSIC!!!! You need to remind him that a brisk paced walk only burns about 100 Calories a mile. Even though he's probably breaking even with the walk and ice cream, it still defeats the purpose!

So I'm an idiot because I use an Apple that has not once ever had a problem in its entire life???? HMMM???
Well....Yeah....?

hiyas *waves at FV*

How did the creative juices (get that?) treat you yesterday FV?
I would agree with Allazar here.... But since its not GINGERBREAD, Im not too concerned about it. :D:D:D
