I am just a bit taller than 4 ft. 5'11''. And Im not a small guy. I dont mean fat either. Im just naturally big. Wide shoulders, thick neck. My right moob may see 137 again... but my left never will. Seriously, I think I looked pretty good at 190. My goal is 185. I know its possible, I just need to work at it. I cant have too many nights like tonight or I just get in the habit of not going to the gym. A good workout can burn an entire lunch's worth of calories off. And that makes a huge difference when trying to drop 2 pounds a week.

I didnt catch the Mars thing until Thursday I think. I just happened to not change the channel when ABC Nightly News came on and caught it by accident. Im glad I did though!

James I am 5'11" as well, and weigh 190. Honestly... you really do want to land in the 175 to 180 range if trying to get back into good shape... as I would love to lose another 15 pounds. The top end of that range has nothing wrong with it as I still have a little gut at 190 and wear 34 x 34 jeans (should be 31 x 34 that I wore leaving boot camp)... the bottom end is anorexic!

Yeah, but like I said before. Im a big dude. Not muscle bound or anything, just big. Well, now Im fat too. At 170, I wore 32's and had a 15" neck and twigs for arms and legs. At 190, I wore 34's and the faintest signs of a six pack, still had an 18" neck, and my arms were bigger than my neck was at 170. I would have to lose muscle and fat to get that small again. I would be thrilled to see 185-190 again. But thats still 25-30 pounds away. For me to see a 31" waist, I would still be around 160. Thats a far cry from the 139 "they" say I could be.

Weight charts should be banished. It depends on your build. Mr. V is 6' and looks great at 190 to 200. He dropped to 170 once and was bony looking. blech. When I weigh what the charts say I should, I look pitiful. That being said, we're both way too "fluffy" right now. Darn bacon.....

You do realize that bacon is not all that bad for your weight unless you eat a pound at a time right? Far worse is the carbs... you could eat bacon pretty much whenever you wanted as long as you had low carbs in your diet....Just sayin!

NOTE: I do not mean the Adkins diet (Atkins) sp? as that is just dangerous!

I hear ya James... I was 170 when I left boot camp and had a 31 inch waist... I doubt I will ever see a 31 inch waist again now that I am over 40 years old... I know I am unlikely to be in that good of shape again even if I do!

I had a 34 inch waist when I entered boot camp... and have a 34 inch waist now... probably in about the same shape both times which is not great although I DO have more muscle now than then!

I thought I looked really good at 190 too. Not ripped or anything like that, but good. Mrs E....well....shes gotten a lot more fluffy now than she was when she was pregnant. Being fluffy when pregnant is ok. Being fluffy 5 years after being pregnant, not so much. BUT, she has already lost a pound since starting the new diet last week though, so shes at least started down a better path of food. Me...? Im just fluffly because I love food. I love to cook food. I love to eat food. I love to cook the food I eat. I love to eat the food I cook.

I went in to boot camp at 170, 34 inch waist. Came out at 170, 32 inch waist.... And that was the last time I saw 32. The last time I saw 34, I was still 190. Thats my goal this time! I just dont like the work that goes with it.

Yeah... I actually GAINED 5 pounds in boot camp but lost 3 inches of waistline!:lol:

I would love to see a 31 inch waist again... but I will never put that type of effort into it to do so. I simply fluctuate plus and minus 10 pounds from the 190 I am currently... and that is the weight that seems to work the best for me without killing myself working out. ;)

Sallie is having her downstairs painted. The painters were getting cussed at for being late while they were standing on the porch on time.

What did I miss?

Sallie's husband is now in the kitchen painting over what that painters just painted. I kid you not.
