Tomorrow Morgan and hubby are going small game hunting together. Morgan is sooooo excited. She is such a daddy's girl. She has her boots and camo pants layed out and ready to put on in the morning. Part of me hopes she gets something hunting, and part of me dreads what they'll walk in with. I think they're going for squirrel. Yuck! Bleh! Gross! eeew.gif

If your using the cartos with the flangs on the bottom you can't. If. Not just push the carto up into the tank from the bottom much easer that way.

Still a carto n00b here, so bear with me. Embarassed at only buying ONE tank fill tool @ $3.00, DUH, but damn, it makes it soooo much easier, and I'd forgotten about needles, messes, until now.

OK, I'm using NON-flanged Boge's, and have XL cartos and a XL tank. I had been trying to push the top piece down into the tank just a wee bit enough to get a needle to fill tank to about 80%, then slide carto back up all the way. This has caused somewhat of an issue because I punch my cartos with the holes at the very bottom (sitting right above bottom tank cap for max juice usage), and had leaking as the punched section of the carto went below the bottom oring when doing this.

You're saying fill from the bottom, so you mean to push the carto UP (from the battery connection side) up into the tank enough to get needle in, fill, then push back > ??

Explain filling from the bottom.... :O

I've been going through about 1 carto for every 2 tank fulls (XL Phiniac) and have it down to a science now. BUT, that included using the plastic filler tip from Phiniac. It allowed me to literally fill it to the top, never a spill, never pressurized the juice INTO the carto, just perfect. NOW (you never miss something until it's gone), I am struggling until I get my replacement.

If you have any variety of drip tips, I found the small tapered ones work similar to the carto tool. And I just now noticed that the white ceramic DT I'm using would work too! So really, any that aren't wider than the carto should do it.

Squirrel is a very good meat. Its great when you make squirrel dumplings with it. Its a big salty though.

They rent locally as well. They are requiring a beginner to get a wood clarinet? They have good quality used instruments. He does repairs for several places around town, so nothing is leaving that isn't in working good condition. If she sticks with it, let me know and I can get you some prices. Clarinet was my first instrument :D

Cool! Thanks! Do they sell used ones?

Right now we are going to rent a clarinet until we are sure she is going to stick with it. I think they have a 3 month trial rental thingy we're going to do for now. In the mean time we will have time to look for an all wood (which apparently ups the price a bit ) Bb clarinet that we won't have to pawn a limb for. The ones at the rent to own store are around $1000 new  We are hoping to find a used one for muuuuuuccccchhhhh less  . They gave us the brands they prefer: Jupiter, yamaha, selmer, bundy. That's all I know for now.

As far as the rest of the stuff we have to buy, it's really not that bad. There are three mandatory fundraisers we have to do but those will completely pay for everything else she'll need like tshirt, books, etc.

I admit, I have never prepared it. The only time I had it was when my grandmother shot, prepped, and cooked it.

    Gad, you forgot frog! :)

Press the threaded end of the carto into the tank. Fill it, then push it back in to the bottom. I leave the drip on so it doesn't go to far back the other way. Hope that helps
