got my replacement today...so happy! evolv has the best customer service out of any vendor I have dealt with when it comes to pv's, juice, anything...big thanks to brandon for not letting me have to resort to my riva for more than a day! and it seems my original darwin was a dud or something cuz this new one takes care of both the cosmetic defects i seen in my first one(my carto and adapter not screwing all the way down in the arm and the button only being raised up on one corner instead of 2. They have made a customer for life here..im very pleased..now to go try some new flavors!

I figured they would get a new one to you ASAP. I am so glad you got yours and are now seeing the vaping bliss we are all enjoying.

Here's a question for Drew...... So how many Darwins have been sold up til now? They always sell out so fast. It would be interesting to know how many have gone out so far. Even with all of the new high-end mods I would be willing to bet that the Darwin is leading the pack in sales.

OMG - My Darwin just started acting up.....intermittently will not turn on and intermittently will not turn off....e-mail to Evolv sent....maybe we have the "plague"....

Still able to get it to work....

Uh oh, this is getting worrisome. This is far too many D'wins going out of commission. My question would be: from what batch did yours come? I asked Drew just now bout the batches. Mine is either the 3rd, or the 5th, depending on "who's counting". I'm just starting to wonder if there truly was a "bad batch"?

So far so good on mine. I do find the button to be very loose, and the arm a bit wiggly, but those things have already been explained on this thread.

The only "defect" I find is that the bars on the battery meter never move from full to empty...

Do not know which batch, but I got it on April 2......arm has always been "wiggly" and "gritty feeling when opening and closing". but it starting this intermittent thing this afternoon.....and you know, I have not even had to charge the battery yet, as only one bar has gone since the initial charge I gave it before using on April 2...

I am still able to get it to work...at this point anyway???

You need to plug it in for a couple of hours. It could be that your battery meter is not working right and it's just dead. Be sure to report back if that helps.

Don't think so because I have not been vaping on it for more than about 10 minutes per day....less than one hour total vaping time since it was delivered....

Yours sounds like a switch problem. Like the connector that senses the arm position is out of place or something.

The more I think about it, any device could have a problem. (I had TWO almost new attys die. One today and one yesterday, but that was Krispy's fault, LOL. And no, they were not LRs, and no, they did not die on the D'win.)

We are such a family of Darwin lovers here that we all feel bad when one has an issue, but the good/great news is what we all have come to realize as regards Evolv's customer service and quick turnaround time. Drew and Brandon, Evolv and Nhaler have become THE vendors of vendors.

Just my:2c:

Guess it could be that .....sometimes I can move the arm about 40 degrees before it turns on and the gritty feel of it when moving the arm is also intermittent...I am really at a loss to what it is, but it is just not right....

OH! THAT'S the problem!!!! You're not vaping enuf!!!! LOL!

That could be it.......hard to break old habit since my VV mod is very good also, so I was kinda saving the Darwin and wearing the batts out on my VV mod.....maybe I should just retire the VV mod and strictly use the D.

The gritty feeling you have when moving the arm is a small problem that happened during the 2nd run of these. The anodizing guys got a little hyper and made the coating too thick. It really restricted the arm motion. I had that problem with my second one, but now over a month later and it has smoothed right out. I think Cuse is right about the sensor for the arm maybe being off. Evolv will take care of you for sure.

WOW -- talk about quick customer service......just got an e-mail (less than 45 minutes after my e-mail to them) that Evolv is sending a new one to me tomorrow....and to send this one back to them.....

I'm impressed with the Customer Service.......

Retird, I got mine just a few days after you did. Hope this isn't a bad batch. It's great they have such good CS I just hope they don't have to send so many replacements out that they dedide it's not worth it and quit. Maybe they will come out with a new and improved version. I have had my Prodigy V2 for 15 months and only had to clean the button a couple times and I've had my Vari since early December with no problems, just hope I have the same luck with my Darwin!
