The new 2.0 Drew has just started selling at least offers some wiggle room on the Darwin. Both of your other atties were quite a bit lower in the resistance area. It is possible that the 2 atties you were trying to use were reported at a higher resistance than they actually are. There has to be some room for a small variance with any atty/carto. Either way, the Darwin simply cannot deliver less than 3.6 to 3.7 volts no matter how low you set the watts to. Lots of people still love the LR atties and continue to use them on Darwin. You just get a lot more room to play with standard resistance. It is also possible that your Darwin has a glitch related to your loose arm.

The strange thing is that I think the Darwin reports less ohm than what the atty should be. Anyway thanks, I will start some correspondence with Evolv.

I have noticed that too. I am seeing a consistant .2 (a 3.2 ohm turns into a 3.0 ohm) drop on the Darwin. I have been told that this has something to do with Darwin taking it's measurements while under a load. I have tried just about every atty and carto out there. I have found that I tend to lose out on flavor with the LR stuff. So far my favorite is the 3 ohm Boge Cartos. If I go the route of Atties my favorite is the BE112 (801 style). If I have a weak juice I can just crank up the watts. If it's too strong I can turn it down.

I have found Darwin's Ohms reading very accurate. New attys will read differently from used. However, keep in mind that all new attys can vary up to +/- .3 ohms from their ratings. All attys can (and do) lose ohms over time/use. This is exactly one of the great benefits to Darwin as it automatically adjusts the volts to accommodate the ohms - thus keeping the watts (and HITS) consistent.

Also all meters have an internal resistance. If you touch the probes of your tester together and hold them you will see areading. Subtract that reading from what you read off the attys and that is your true reading.
Some better meteres have a feature that you can zero it out after calibrating. Most Meters vary around .2 to .3 on the measurements.
Hey Cyber you might try snugging up the screws around the arm. It cant fall out without being taken completely apart so I wouldnt worry too much about that. Try not to over tighten the screws as they are soft brass...Thanks
Drew

^^ Yea - What he said = 100% correct! ^^

Only thing I can add is that when you hold the leads together, try to make sure they are steady and still because movement of the touching leads can produce inaccurate results. I try to lock mine together in the groves at the end of the leads (mine has these - not sure if all do). Also best to hold the leads by the handles. If your fingers are touching the metal parts of the leads, this can potentially impact the reading as well.

Evenin', Darwinia.

Good luck CyberDJ. I'm sure Evolv will take the wondering away for you.

Have been giving the HV Fluxomizers another try and they function much better after a break-in and as long as I don't roll the dial to Blast Furnace. Unfortunately...they're still clear, which means I've cracked two trying to fit on drip tips. Drip tips are a must so...boo. thank goodness I've overcome my fill aversion.

Still in vape heaven after my latest big juice haul. These 510 mega cartos - can't figure out which ones I got - have the same good fill in them so vapor production is awesome. I've got one Big Gulp I've been topping off with Creamberry and that's still good. The Fire & Ice seemed to react to the metal whatsit and discolored the fill around it...I keep lookin' at it and smelling all the good juice in there....and oh yeah, if nobody was lookin' I'd probably test vape it. Why do I love wicked juice so much? All I'm waiting on now is the USPS site to update and tell me I'll have my Big Gulps in time for an extended couple days of meetings. I don't know what they're doing in Trenton but it's not keying in exiting packages.

I keep buying chocolate juice...and I don't like vaping chocolate but folks rave over something and like a good little lemming I put it in my doggone cart. I'm going to load up some of this pear juice...Asian Pear?...and a 901 on the VapeMate and let some TV watch me. Be funny while I'm gone.

I have been using Big Gulps since I got home and its the first time I've given them a serious try since I bought them 10 days ago and I am feeling some love for them. They do mute flavors a little and I do not love whistle-tips but I love the amount of juice they hold and they are keeping my interest right now. Plus the arm closing is a nice plus.

Krisb hooked me up w/one. I also stated flavor is a little muted but the inventory is huge. Again we are of the same mindset. Liking these right around 9.4 - 9.8 for some reason

Yeah, I run them there too. I think I'm gonna sell or trade my GLV SM for a GLV 5V. I am just not a 3.7 guy anymore, I rarely use it.

Not even with a LR306???? Gald you posted since I was looking at them. Getting sort of itchy waiting for the JC, you know what I mean? Man I have to tell you this Reo Mini is rockin the house with a LR 306 and a 14500 aw batt. You really need to get one of these. It makes the drive to work so much better. Ask Krisb, she hit the thing a few times last Friday. Even with the Vari there she kept grabbing the Reo. I am even thinking of stepping up to the Grand.

I do like the look of the Reo Mini, but just concerned about 3.7. But maybe with a 306 I guess

It IS the only way to fly w/3.7! I would expect you to hit the GLV with one. I swear by them and of course the ONLY DT I use regularly is the Colored and Twisted ones that Drew has.

Do you have a LR 306 in the arsenal? Do you need one to try????

Wow fellow Darwinians has anyone looked at the post and view count for this thread?? over 75,000 views and almost 3,800 posts (ok a lot of it is banter between a few of us wacky nHaler and Darwin fans) but that is pretty impresive for a thread that is just over 3 months old. Again Drew thanks for letting us play in your yard and for being such a reliable and good Supplier to our little hobby!

I have LR306's but I just get sick of dripping. I've gotten lazy in my old age. There was a time when all I did was drip.

Then bottom feeder with LR opens up a whole new realm. Go for it. I hear you about dripping. That is why I have been doing the carto thing and MAP on the Vari. But damn that bottom feeder with a LR 306 kicks it. You won't be sorry.

And you and I have about 500 each so that accounts for the wacky end. Then there are a few that actually have contributed to Darwin talk :). Anyway still looks impressive and I am happy that I own this device. It sure does bring the vapes to a new level. Hang loose CG

BTW - don't forget about KD she has a large handful too.

Sort of quite without the ladies here. Notice we have not even veered into the gutter without them. Leads me to believe it is not us :)

My Darwin is slated for delivery tomorrow..

I'm pretty excited to get some consistency in my vaping...

I work now off of 808's/cartos, an ego tank and dripping into a magma 510 atty. Dripping is by far my favorite.. I like the convenience of cartos but I struggle to get a consistent and satisfying vape... The tank is meh... great convenience, a few great draws and TH, but then it tastes burnt and harsh... terrible consistency. I certainly will not be buying any more attys for it. I have some empty carts for the 510 and I'll probably trying that route but I think dripping is by far my favorite... I guess I'll have to be careful about flooding from the sounds of it...

I have a pile of 510 regular and LR atty's, a couple of ciscos and lots of cartos and a 510/808 adapter... and about 5 years worth of juice... lol... and I've only been doing this a month or so... I think with this purchase and some more juice on the way, I've spent as much as would have for a year of analogs...lol... oh well... this is fun..

Any info you good people would like to throw my way to make my 1st Darwin experience fantastic and get me on the right track... it would be greatly appreciated. Recommendations on atty's and anything else that I'll eventually try... well, I would guess that I'm not all that different than most and will be happy to avoid any pitfalls and will get whatever I need to make me a calm and happy vaper.

Thanks....
