Hey guys have a few questions scene I am new with all these settings. 1st the charging part is not a mini port like on my Droid phone correct? its more the older style phones right?
also you can not see any of the stats unless you push the but to see v or ohm i am guessing.
How do I know what the ohm or v will be on a atty or carto if i have to push the button and then it my be to late and I pop one?

It's a mini USB, I think your Droid has a micro USB connection. Not older, just different.
You can press the button for a second or two to see what the readings are without hurting the atty, just make sure there's juice in there. I do it whenever I'm curious. Mostly I just vape, I'm not really concerned what the volts are, and only check the ohms when I put a new atty on.

Do they make a USB with the older style phone port like the Darwin needs? and can you use more than the 800mh than the wall charger it comes with? Is it like a Cell phone that will only draw what it needs no matter how many mh it puts out like my 2000mh car charger?

You can get mini USB cords pretty at any computer store like NewEgg.com. I'd recommend going online for one, they're less than $5 then, otherwise you'll be spending $20+ at best buy for the same cord. And there are wall and auto plugs that have USB connections for strictly charging purposes.

I think you're getting a bit confused with milliamp (ma) and milliamp hours (mah) (there is no mh). Milliamps are the rate of flow (how quickly it charges), and milliamp hours are the capacity of the battery (how long the battery lasts). Think of it this way: You have a bucket of water with a spigot on it. The larger the bucket, the more capacity, and the longer it will last. The larger the spigot, the faster you can fill (charge or discharge) it. So if you have a 800ma charger, it will be able to charge faster than a 500ma charger. Many of the older USB ports on a PC were only .5a (500ma), while the newer ones are 2a (2000ma). I've charged my Darwin on all the USB chargers available to my without an issue. The Darwin is smart enough to draw just what it needs. And on the flip side, the more amps your atty pulls, the faster the battery will discharge.

Some of that is prolly my (chatty) fault! Yes, we do have some new Darwinians around here now. Let us know when you catch up!

That's the fun of this thread, and why I'm still subscribed to it. That, and to provide what info I can to those new to Darwinia, as well as those that have been around since the beginning.

You feeling any better after a good night's sleep?

Middle of nowhere
Here's another pic. If most Darwins are like this, I guess I'll keep it.

t6v4gw.jpg
I have two Darwins. One is like the pic and the other one is not.
I like and use the one with the higher button more than I do the one with the lower button.
I also see the light and it has what you called a chip in the button on both of mine.
If you like it keep it. It has a 2yr warranty on it if something dose go wrong. I agree they are like new puppies and kittens.
You get one wandering "am I going to like this thing" and then it grows on you and you can do with out it.
Talking about puppies and kittens of course.
I'm noway attached to my Darwin like that.
JUST DON'T TOUCH MY DARWIN WITH OUT MY PERMISSION......................LOL

Not really, Al. My lungs feel like they're clearing out all the old toxins from years of sm--ing. But thanks for asking :)
