OH
So, I guess this thread is dead as far as ANY information about the Darwin, its use, or its availability?!?!?

Not at all, if you have questions, ask away! Drew stops by often if you ask anything we may not be able to help with.

As far as availability, just shoot drew an email and he'll let you know. Should be very soon though.

SLH, this thread is in the NHaler sub-forum. If you go up one level into the sub-forum, this was posted yesterday as a separate thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/nhaler/193766-darwin-back-stock.html

As for info about the device and its use - yea, this is a looooong thread and can be difficult to search. There are several posts in the review section that have lots of info. But, as Krisb posted, LOTS of Darwin owners post and follow in this thread so ask away. Someone will jump in to try to help you - probably fairly quickly too. While I cannot speak for anyone, many here would probably be happy to PM with you as well.

They come in from Evolv regularly even if not on an exact schedule. Best bet, if you want one, is to email NHaler and request notification for next batch. These are selling out fast so I don't know if you will get in the next batch or not but contacting NHaler is probably a good start.

If you are still unsure, if you can make the Sun-Up (Phoenix) meet on the 26th, you can try mine and I'll be more than happy to answer whatever I can. I posted an in the reviews section and a follow-up post in that thread after 4 months of using the device. You can see that here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ressions-newest-pre-production-prototype.html

Nice meeting you in person. :) That was an interesting vape meet. To bad it was so far away. I want one to be on the westside :p BTW still enjoying my darwin. It is amazing.

Was nice to say the least, Aaron! What a treat, yeah? Wish you have stayed on to enjoy the "after hours" vape fest on the patio...

How was it? My ride had to go. Cool cut drip shield. I have to order another one. Do the cuts go all the way through and not work as well on the 510s? Or is there a piece of metal from the drip shield still covering the whole atty? Is there any gell skins like this for the darwin ? Want to meet at a coffee shop in Santa Monica? Got more then 20 new juices to try :2cool:

Hey all! Does anyone remember the page that nebulabot (do I have that right??) Wrote that awesome explanation on how Darwin works, the techy info? Was talking to someone who just bought a Darwin on the classys and said he was using the dual coil 1.5 attys and thought he would use them at 12.3 wattage when his Darwin arrived. I tried to explain, but think I'm failing miserably, LOL.

Hey Aaron, no the cuts do not go thru the metal at all, and they actually do work well on the 510s. I'd love to meet up with you sometime. We'll have to find a vape friendly place tho. Those skins are very cool. The D'win goes wooden, eh?

Wow, Krispy, he's written so many. Are you talking about the one where we got the lesson on dripping?

I don't remember where the post is, but I can tell you the resulting volts at a few settings. With the 1.5 ohm dual coils you have to be at 9.2 watts before the Darwin can even start to regulate the volts. Anything less than that and the Darwin will deliver 3.6 volts no matter what.
At 10 watts it delivers 3.9v.
At 11 watts it delivers 4.2v
At 12 watts it delivers 4.3
At 12.6 watts it delivers 4.4 max
So in essence, since the LR dual coils register at such a low resistance even a very large jump in watts doesn't change the actual resulting volts by much at all.

Does that help?

Edit to add: I tend to run my Dual Coils at about 11 watts. Good flavor and vapor at that point. I have put the Dual coils on a 6v mod and still haven't managed to get burnt juice.

Rly? I was running mine at 9.2, of course, didn't check the readout, never do anymore. Lol. Now I want to grab it and bump up the wattage, I didnt go higher because the atty got pretty hot. After my two atty death day, I've been a bit timid :)

Well, you gotta remember that those dual coils are actually running 2 of the 3.2 ohm coils inside. So, they can handle the heat a whole lot better than any other LR carto or atty. I only have 1 flavor that burns really easy. The rest I can run in dual coils at full tilt on the Darwin. They do get hot, but I don't just run 1 Darwin. I have 2. And I also rotate my Reo's with them all day. So I'm not really hitting just one Darwin with 1 carto all the time. I will say that if your friend runs those duals at full wattage over a long time his battery is gonna die pretty fast. I consistently lose a good 4 hours of battery time when I run my Darwin on the LR stuff.

My dual is an atty, not the cartos. Not that that should change anything. I'm rotating two Darwins now, since I got my spare Darwin back I will say my poor reo is getting lonely :( . One reo has a tank from Drew with kbv angel wings and the other has my fav attys rotated.

Been so involved with obsessing over car shopping, hardly get on the forum last week or so, but this thread has gone very quiet! Where has ski been?

I use the xl clear duels 2.5 and can run them from 4.2 watts at 3.4v and 12.7 whats at 5.5v prefer it at around 10.5 to 11 watts for me

Ski's been very involved and busy with work related stuff. And where is our Sew and now infamous CG?

Sorry folks, I deleted my post. I continued to read, after my theorizing post efforts, and found more and more that my theory was all wrong. I wanted to help but also abhor incorrect information posts.

Dual coils seem to be a real enigma to me. I will research the issue more - as time permits - and learn the facts.
