Oh boy Ski-you and I have the newest models...hope this isn't a glitch...Evolve is going to think I'm some kind of HypochondriDarwinian or something!!!!! ARGH!!!

GWtW I actually have two units the one that has misbehaved is the older one. I believe the stern talking I gave it may have made it decide to change its wicked ways. We shall see. The newer revsion one has not had any problems

Where do the Darwins ship from? Just ordered mine last night.

New Jersey. The revision you will get has an electronic switch which is a nice addition and a more robust contact point on the swivel arm. Non of the cahnges are fixes just revisions for better performance. You will be happy with the unit.

Mine was acting up. Two times now (about a month ago and then this past Monday)it was fully charged and left overnight (off the charger) with the arm down and in the morning it was so dead that the screen would not even light. I charged it for 12+ hours and when I fired the unit (pulling 5 volts) the batt indicator was bouncing like crazy. Used it as a passthrough all day yesterday and charged it the entire night. Now it seems to be working normally. I am hoping that it is not a bad battery. Try charging yours for a few hours with the arm down (unit off) then using it as a pass through for a few hours. Best of luck and if mine does this again I will contact Evolv

Ski, could it be the (older) charger? Just musing...

From what you said tho, it might be good to let Evolv know. Obviously there is a problem there.

Gone, please report back what you find out about yours?

Congrats, Repent!

I posted this in one of the "what do you carry your stuff in" threads. When I was a smoker I liked shirts with pockets to carry the stuff. If I was working or being outdoors I always liked cargo pants/shorts because of their extra pockets. I was happy to discover that one of last summer's Wally World closeout has a perfect Darwin pocket. It wouldn't be the best for running or jumping, but for casual standing/walking it is perfect.

Liv2Ski I see by your banner that you must also own a Provari? I do as well. Can you tell me what you think about them? Which is your fav and why? I like using tank mods. Have an iAtty on order as well as a Bulli A2 on hand and the A-2T upgrade kit coming in the mail.

Thanks Kat but I have definately ruled out the charger and the charging connection on the Darwin. Certainly internal. Somehow in the off position it is draining itself to completely dead. I believe this is what is causing the batt issue since these types of batts detest total discharge. I have been able to catch it twice now but I fear another instance or two and it will be lights out for the unit. Right now it is working fine but it did the same thing a month ago. Stress level is not too high since I have a spare so all is well.

Repent I own a few different MOD's and the only MOD I have two of is the Darwin (although I have a REO Mini and a Grand). I consider the Vari and the Darwin to be the top of the line out there right now. I use the Vari at home with a Tank and it has provided awesome service since December. The Darwin wins though in my book for portability and ease of use. While the Vari is a better fit for the Tank the Darwin just brings it with a nice Carto. I never worry about leaks or spills and it can be charged off a USB port. So with the tanks you have you will now have the best of both worlds. A great unit in the Vari to kick back in the lazy boy with while equiped with a tank at home and a Darwin that can pretty much go anywhere is easily placed in a pocket and gives the same consistent hit no matter what you slap on it. You will really like this MOD. Happy vapes

If ya like big tanks, Nhaler has several really nice options that are stellar with Darwin.

The combo of giant cartos and a Darwin has turned out to be the utlimate traveling/driving PV for me. Can easily go all day on a single fill, and even start off the morning till I'm awake enough to top it off (less trouble than making my first pot of coffee). For a long time I baulked at the price on some of these giant options, but after trying a few...I find I can vape for as little as 70 cents a day (juice and carto operation expense). Not bad :)

I've always liked the CE2 engine, and the latest Giantomizers do great with Darwin if you stack a few extensions first...mine even opens and closes. Love how the arm gives close to 180 degress of flexibility in how you hold the Darwin...think of it like a gooseneck of sorts. I rarely open mine all the way out unless I'm standing or walking around while using it.

Today I've been using a carto for the 1st time since getting my Dar.
I wouldn't have thought that vaping at 6.0 would 'do anything' for me. Wow!!! Hot Hot Hot!! I'd been using the same LR atty since I got it-6 weeks. it's still going strong BUT it's time to try some new stuff on this baby and let her stretch her legs!!!

That is the nice thing about a variable unit----- all those old atty's that just didn't seem to hit well anymore, just dial up the watts and they are like new. Enjoy. Drew has some nice cartos for the Darwin. The Boges work well and I actually enjoy the Iken V2 drip cartos on the unit.

I like the idea of using the tanks at home with the provari and the Darwin during work with a carto. Been using the tanks at work but that can be a hassle.

I'll have to checkout some sort of carto that has a decent juice capacity for the Darwin for during the day.

Try the Jumbo carto Drew has SK has affectionately named it the big gulp. The darn thing holds a massive amount of juice!
