Now what's up with ECF? I got a notification that new posts were on this thread, came here to check them out, but it won't let me get to page 675. I may never know what's been posted;)

Al

That happened to me on another thread the other day. I don't know what is going on :(

Ouch, sorry to hear kat! I'm miserable at being restricted to only 3.7. Hope your wait is short!

I'm sure it will be, knowing Brandon and Evolv. Everyone is right. The CS is beyond belief. Love them!

Page 675? How many posts do you have set to show in your settings, Al? I'm on page 169, but I have my posts set to the max.

Ok, so I'm packing it up and sending it back to Brandon. Once again, the CS with Evolv is beyond belief.

I was hoping to never have to send it back. But this self-firing scared the youknowwhat out of me. I'm be so happy to get a replacement!

Not relishing the thought of using nothing but 3.7 til it arrives tho. Sigh...

Here is hoping for a super fast turn around time. If Drew had the colored Darwins for sale the other night I would have ordered unit #3. Best of luck KD

Thanks for the quick reply Nano (and Chornbro), and thanks for the welcome. It is not a problem at the moment, and hopefully won't be. Just needed a bit of reassurance that it isn't anything out of the ordinary!

For the moment, I have only really been using 2 2.6-2.8 ohm Clearos, one of which is coming up as 2.5 ohms, and the other is 2.9 ohms. Have tried 2 different juices, and both are perfect for me at 5.7 watts. If I go higher than that, the flavour seems to deteriorate a bit. Is this a similar to your tastes?

Welcome aboard :)

The CE2 typically doesn't like too much heat. Especially the clear ones. Sweet spot for them tends to be between 4 and 4.5 volts (5 to 6 watts). While you can dial them up pretty dern high without fear of popping one...the wicks just can't keep up with real high watt settings.

I love the CE2 for flavor/vape/efficiency and use the giant ones often at around 6 watts with a 50/50/24 liquid mix for awesome battery life and all day vaping, but it's never been much of a throat hit carto for me. These are more like a 'driving/traveling' option for me. With my normal vaping frequency I never hit a dry spot at 6w...but I'd imagine if I pushed it hard with back to back hits I could do it pretty fast. The point here is...the CE2 out of the box is really meant to be a 5 to 6ish watt carto (or even less) for the most part (the coils are real close to your mouth, so going much hotter could be a bad idea anyway)...push it past that and you'll probably wonder if vaping your tires wouldn't taste better ;)

Looking for eye burning throat hit or just a really hot vape in general? CE2 is NOT the carto for that (getting it that hot wrecks all of the other good points of the carto). Maybe a 306, some sort of 306/510 hybrid, or maybe a dual coil carto are a better call.

I love a good HV 801 atty at least 3.5 Ohms...seems to be a good blend of TH, Flavor, Vape, tho' a little cooler feel to have such a big performance bang. Yep, I use the carts with these.

Just a heads up credo, they gave me a warning for having that signature. It is too big so you might wanna downsize it  It's sad because the monkey needs to be big for people to read it but it happens :(

Too funny...some folks have nothing better to gripe about LOL...
I love the "Vape Like A Research Monkey" thing...a classic quote for sure :)

Cheers Credo. I'm yet to try a 306, but have never been a dripper, so am not sure how I'll get on with it. I've just ordered some of those 'pump carts', so am hoping that they will solve the problem for me, and make normal atties more accessible.

The e-cig world is an exciting place with a Darwin in your hand!

It really is exciting :D I think you will figure out dripping pretty quickly. Once you get a few dry hits and it burns your throat, you will learn when to drip

I got some pump carts too, I'm glad I got them, and will get more when these wear out...but...don't count on them totally replacing dripping.

They're nice for when you don't have both hands free for dripping and can't afford to 'look away from tasks and at your PV' often. You can get away from 'the bottle' for an hour or so with a full one. When you do have both hands and an eye free however...dripping is just as easy if not more-so :)

If you do fall in love with dripping on atties, need a one handed no eye-balling solution, and the pump carts aren't quite enough...there are some decent top feeder mods out there. You can go cheap with a little pump bottle hosed into a blank cart...or get fancy with a pretty mod like the Vape-Mate.

If you want atties that the native carts actually work well...the 801 or Mega-510 is worth a try.

Do yourself a favor and take the plunge into dripping... theres a learning curve, but it's totally worth it and you CAN get consistent hits every time... flavor/vapor/throat hit... all coupled with the reliability of an atomizer... my vaping expenses went WAY down now that 306s last me for months and months : )

Panky, was the little Research Monkey I posted too big for the signature?

How's this one for you (and for Credo)?
