Guess I might as well drop a line in... I was fortunate enough to have a little breathing room / windfall recently and spent a while trying to decide what to get. Despite REALLY wanting some kind of juice-box or feeder, after all the research I finally decided on the Darwin. Guess I'll have to start researching tanks to get that all-day vape thing goin' on. :)

I'm REALLY hoping it gets here tomorrow, otherwise I'll have to suffer through the Mailman Blues until Tuesday... :(

Your a very talented bloke vapian. Your gonna love the Darwin and I'm really lookin forward to the singin review!

How about the poster from the UK that just dropped his Riva in a piss filled toliet? Anyone see that post. Not only his piss but it sounds like nobody flushed for a few rounds. He reached in and pulled it out, washed it and then vaped about an hour later. MMMMMMMM Yummmy mellow yellow with a hint tidy bowl blue. I would have flushed that Riva batt for sure. Now if it was the Darwin------ I may have flushed that too but I am not sure.

"Brilliant, A fine bit of half & half that" My best brit impression.

I wouldn't flush them but they would get a few baths in PGA then a week to dry and then rinse and repeat before I used them.

I was thinking, the only thing I dislike about the darwin is that I can't use my ego mega atties or cartos on it without using a gooseneck which, even with the 3" gooseneck is way too long. Only, only if the darwin 2 could have an arm that telescopes out a little bit so you could put bigger atties on it without compromising the durability of the device.. or what I was thinking of trying to make a 510-510 adapter that offsets so that I could put a 510-ego on top of that and happily vape my mega b atties. The only thing is that it would have to be flexible or adjustable itself in order to be in the right direction when threaded in as to not hit the body.

Any ideas anyone?

Ego Mega Dual Coil Carto (EMDCC) on Darwin using only a standard 510 to 510 extender (approx 1" long) - Darwin also has standard 510 to 510 adapter on it:

Hey all,

What does it mean when I plug in my Cartomizer, the Darwin just has a flashing cigarette with a "!" on it? I can't get it to work! Helpppppp.

Thanks in advance!

Carto is shot and is creating a short. The flashing cig has been added to newer rev models. try another carto and that should work. If this is a new carto I have seen it happen before. Remember they are made by hand so manufacturing errors can occur

Thanks thanks thanks. I gotta make a habit of carrying extra cartos with me. Just gotta wait til I get home. :)

Welcome. Do let us know if that fixes things for you. I have a couple Darwins and never saw the "cig" until the newest one arrived. I had loaded a fresh carto and nothing. When I looked at the screen I saw that icon and was thinking WTF. Hit the carto with DMM and sure enough it was shorted. So just a nice added feature on the unit to let you know something is out of wack.

Thanks NB. I was thinking maybe if KD had some time on her hands she could browse this thread and clip about 15 - 25 good posts and paste them over in the Research Monkey thread. Of course many would be yours since you have pretty much written most of the deeper tech responses. We should probably keep that thread uncluttered since newbies would be hard pressed to find all the good info in this one with all our banter :) Be good and happy vapes NB

On top of the standard 510-510 adapter, I mount a 510-eGo adapter (A couple of vendors have them, I got mine from Avid Vaper). This works just fine for the eGo dual-coils and tanks. The arm doesn't close all the way, but it just barely closes enough to shut the unit off if I feel the need to for some reason
