Just received my Darwin....
1.) Charging: do I see anything, like the battery icon moving when plugged in the charger? I tried another cable directly to PC but nothing is happening or is this normal?
2.) Is the backlight supposed to come on in the dark when turning the wheel? I see that it quickly lights up but does not stay on, only when pressing the button....so reading voltage, amp etc only when button pressed?

This unit is powerful: when I have it close to my laptop, either turned on or off my mouse pointer is going crazy.......only when connected to the AC power/usb.... without having it attached my mouse behaves like a good mouse

Got this from the UK on advise of evolve, no manual included or anything.....
It feels and looks great, no issues there!!!

Here is the manual...
https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&p...4NTFi&hl=en_US

The light only comes on when the button is pressed except for every six seconds the unit does a self diagnostic which is why you see the milisecond flash of the lite when the unit is powered on.

You will also want to check out thsi thread as it will answer all your questions.

Most of the things you describe are par for the course, part of the design (which will make more sense why they did it that way as you use it for a while) and quite normal.

That it messes with your mouse is NOT normal. I'd promptly try a new usb cable on your Darwin if I were you. Something isn't right there at all and the first thing to check would be the cable.

If that doesn't fix it, try it on some other computers with various cables. If the problem keeps popping up it might be deeper in the Darwin and not the cables or computers, and Evolv will fix you right up in no time flat if you report it. I'm more inclined to believe it is the cable itself though.

when hooked up to laptop, no issues, when on the charger, issues, so then the charger would be faulty as I cannot take the cable off, it is one unit.

Tried another charger (better quality I guess) and no issues...

Congrats Ski! You are going to be wishing this day would end, trust me on that! Too bad we can't celebrate it in person, but we do need to get together soon and create some massive clouds! Good job Buddy!

(AHEM!) Yes, CG, we certainly do! :vapor:
