Hey SK, Hope you feel better:( I had a similar situation with screen shutoff. I put a brand new IKV 801 carto on and immediately the screen shut down. Closed the arm, and reopened...same thing. I checked the carto on a multimeter and it was dead with a resistance of 9 ohms...DOA. First time I was ever glad a carto was dead!

Drat. Put on a CE2 carto with no adapter. Blank screen. Put on an 801, with an adapter, screen is working. How strange is this? Could something about the CE2 be setting it off?

Just tried a brand new CE2 and I had a hard time screwing it into the arm. In fact, I couldn't get it all the way screwed down. The atty portion of the arm is rather shallow. I don't want to part with it but I'm a CE2 and MAP tank user... :( Emailing Evolv.

I use CE2's alot, clearos, cartos and MAPS and havent had any issues with them. Could it be a bad one like my 801? I still use the short adapter.

Possible, Cuseguy. The 2nd 510-510 was brand new though it being wonky is not inconceivable, I guess. Enjoying Bananas Foster in 801 2.5 Ikenvape shorty. I seriously need to lay in some more of this stuff.

Thanks and thanks, Cuseguy. I'll get out the evil multimeter tomorrow and check these to see if they've gone rogue. Funny thing is, I'd made a mental note to ask about some of the safety features the Provari brags about. It flashes an E when an atty is kaput, etc. and I was wondering if the Darwin would do me a similar favor. I can't tell if the blank out is some sort of short circuit protection or something.

I can already see that DUDU thing hanging 'round like a bad smell... ;)

So far have been maxing with an 801 SR. Have been at work and wanted to try a few juices that normally have issues at high temps (no longer an issue with the Darwins level of control) and I normally use an 801 for taste tests, as the flavor seems more pronounced and (very importantly) the 801 seems to be much quicker than anything else to get rid of the previous joose flavour when you throw in a new joose (does anyone else find this)?

Looking forward to throwing on some other attys/ego tanks/cartomizers/fluxomizers (yes, I have been busy in my two months of vaping. Not to mention the wine ice bucket full of flavours to try, half still unopened...). And can't wait for my MAP tanks to arrive. :)

To date the Darwin has been by far the ultimate vaperience!!

Woohoo, Darwin was delivered this morning. Wadda great day!

Does this make me the first D.U.D.U (Darwin User Down Under. Crap acronym, i know <childish giggle>)?

Nope. I think you're the second. Timtam, one of the moderators, got a Darwin from the first batch NHaler sold.

SK, I have seen reports of MAP tanks leaking. I know of one left 3/4 full overnight had completely leaked out 100% by morning.
From your post:
Okay, I unscrewed off the tank and wiped out a sizable amount of liquid and swabbed the adapter connector with an alcohol wipe, put an atty on and it fired right up. Phew. Vaped along for a bit and, as I was going out, put on another tank (not the half full one) and by the third vape off it the very same thing happened. And, once again, there was leakage into the adapter.
This is tank leakage and has nothing to do with the device.

To SK and others, I do not remember the post but one of the Electrical Engineers posted that these Lithium Polymer cells are better off charged top-off style rather than to let them fully drain. I just plug mine in every night to charge while I sleep. Darwin has a smart charge design so the charge cycle is shut off when fully charged.

Hope these are helpful.

Thanks, Nebulabrot. The leakage was related to my tanks and not the Darwin, which worked well all last night so long as I used an adapter. Today, I took it off the charger and have a blank screen, no matter what I put in the atty arm. When I press the button it will fire but there's no readout. Usually Evolv responds very quickly to inquiries but I haven't received a reply yet to my two Contact forms. I found my receipt and spoke with Sean at Nhaler who told me to send it to them. They must be busy making new Darwins for the next shipment.

Edit to update: A new one on its way to me. Thank goodness. I was spoiled already.

Receive more juice in mail today. Tried the Cola flavor from MVS on my Darwin and it was great! Actually tastes like Cola and even has a hint of carbonation in it. Amazed how they figured out how to do that.

A quick question. Is it safe to use 8+ Watts when using Joye510 atty? Also, when using HV atty, can I dial it up even higher? Don't want to risk burning out new attys.

It should be no problem at all running 8+ watts on a standard 510 atty. I have ran mine at as high at 10 watts with no issues. You certainly can push the dial up when using an HV atty. Although, you can alternate between the 2, SR & HV atty with exact same results. The Darwin will automatically adjust the voltage to match what you put on it.

I finally did it! I have officially lost what little bit was left of my mind! As I previously mentioned, my Darwin never leaves my hand. Well, today I actually tried to change the TV channel with my Darwin. I am almost embarrassed to admit that I actually did that twice today. On the bright side, I was home alone. No witnesses.

Note to Evolve:
Since the Darwin does just about everything anyway, how about adding a Universal Remote control function? At least then I won't look like a total idiot next time I try to change the channel with it.

Thanks for the warm welcome SK. You make a noob vaper feel right at home :)

Am waiting for some MAPs as well, and may even have an idea on how to make them and other "over sized" JDDs (juice delivery devices) a little more convenient on the Darwin. Will advise once I get my hands on all the components...

(BTW, apologies for all the acronyms; I work in IT and can't see three words together without wanting to acronymize them. Tat being said, what is the overall collective term for attys/cartos/tanks/etc?)
