Calculating the readings you are getting, it seems they are correct using OHM's Law....If you have a 3.0 ohm carto or atty try it...all the ohm readings and voltage readings you are getting indicate they are LR carto's....thus the voltage readings you are getting are correct...

At any rate, you can go to Evolv's web site and click the "Contact Us" link....fill out the info and tell them what your issue is....they will take care of you....

Thanks. I guess I'll make a quick order for a single 4 or 5 ohm carto as a test. I understand they are showing they are LR... but the ones i JUST got from madvapes are suspose to be 3 ohm -- I order 3 ohm -- Darwin USE to say 3 ohm till I used the duel coil carto... now anything I put on there only reads as if it were LR (when thats not the case).

Well, since you are using a 3.0 ohm(verified) and getting LR carto readings, just contact Evolv......they will surely get you going....

If you have a multi-meter, you could also check the actual Ohm reading of the carto to make sure it is actually 3.0 ohm.....ya know, sometimes the wrong carto's can be shipped.....

My Darwin is dead.

Last night I put a brand new dual coil carto on, filled it up, set it to 12.7 watts, and started vaping. Everything was going fine, great vapor, great throat hit, great flavor. I happened to glance down and noticed that my Darwin was saying that the DC carto was only 0.9Ω.
and that Darwin was pumping 3.8 amps into it.

But I assumed that Darwin would simply shut itself off it was too much for it. I went to bed about 3 hours later, and plugged in my Darwin as I have been (using the included charger).
I woke up an hour ago, and reached for my Darwin, only to find the battery was dead.

So I tried plugging it into a usb cable on my laptop. Let it charge for an hour or so, and it was still dead.

She wasn't even a month old yet.:(

UPDATE: I believe that it is charging, every few seconds it will read 0.9v when it's plugged in. But the battery isn't charging, and it was dead (screen just flashing when I hit the button) when I went to bed. Looks like I'm back to my old reliable Super-T P16 for now. She may not know all the fancy tricks that Darwin does, but she always works. She's like that ex-girlfriend you can call up anytime... ;-)

Tried it with a different carto/atty attached right?

The battery was dead (just flashing when you hit the button) when I went to bed. It seems like the issue is that the battery just won't charge. It is showing between 0.2 and 0.9 volts every few seconds when plugged in. But the battery gauge has not moved, and it just flashes when I hit the button.

Just tried changing cartos for the hell of it, still the same thing.

That sucks dude, I'm in your boat too though... Mines also only a month old. Has me wondering if maybe I should have picked up the provari instead :(

Have you tried a different charger?

This last weekend my Darwin didn't charge off the cord and USB hub that I've been using for the last few months. It does charge from my car charger and USB hubs at work. I've contacted Evolv, and Brandon is leaning towards it being an issue with the USB hub. I'm still not so sure though, because it will charge my phone, just not my Darwin.
Regardless of where the issue lies, I can still charge my Darwin, and if that changes, I know Evolv will take care of me.

Did you guys with sick Darwins contact Evolv?

I have, no response yet. But it's been less than an hour. I'm sure they'll take good care of me, I have no doubt of that. It's the fact that they're currently showing out of stock that concerns me. At least I still have my P16 as a backup.

I really wish they'd have included some type of charging indicator like cell phones have.

Update: Just received an email from Brandon. Suggested trying another charger, and returning for repair if that doesn't work.

I think my P16 was jealous I haven't been using her, and she did something to my Darwin while I was sleeping.

I think they keep a few working units at hand to take care of folks with sick Darwins. Hang in there.

I've had mine for several months now and knock on wood, it's still going strong with no issues.

drew might be out of stock but im sure evolv has some standing by, it might just be a bad battery or maybe a batch of darwins got sent out that got dropped by the mailman or something of the sort, it happens, working in hvac, sometimes you just get a bad batch of parts or something and you dont realize it till they start to fail, of course at that time the consumer is already ...... cuz the part is so young, lol, anycase, thats what warranties are for.

I think it's much more likely that my jealous P16 did something to my Darwin while I was sleeping.

so i gotta question, what attys and or cartos does everyone use? there are so many out there, normally i was dripping, while my tongue was burnt and i couldnt taste anything, i popped open some boge 3.0 cartos , i really enjoyed them, but they seem to only last about a half hour of chain vaping then i have to fill up again, i have tried some of the dual cartos and i like the principle, and the ego ones hold alot, but they drain the battery fairly quick, so is there a regular HV carto that is decent or similar to the boge 3ohm carts i use? just any opinions im open to try out

I've been using dual coils lately. They're nice, but honestly I like the Boge better. Once I use up the rest of these dual coils, I'm going to order more Boge cartos.

I use various attys but 901 attys really allow for flavor, Io6, great! 510 HV great! I prefer my 901s though for flavor..

you getting just the regular 3 ohm ones? how long do they normally last you? i like the dual coil ones, but i dont like the battery life 1.5 ohms kills it
