Fellow Darwinians - I know some of you like me are into DIY. I am not sure if you have been following the Box Elder debacle but Kut just posted some results of his extensive titration work. I am not an alarmest but if you do have any BE nic in your inventory please check it and if it does not seem right chuck it. It is a small price to pay for safety.

ime you should. It is super easy and the $$$$ you save is unreal. Especially if you breath through the Darwin and plow through 10mls per day like some of us :). If you ever want to try your hand at it ping me. If you can mix a drink you can DIY. KD, Nano can I get a yup yup on that????

OMG U2 retird??? Let the DIY classes begin. Really if any of the Darwin clan wants to try DIY PM me I will give you my number and help you through it. It really does take this hobby of ours to a whole new level and you will be amazed at what you can make yourself. I have not purchased a store bought juice in well over six months. Now MOD's, atty's, tanks, catros ect that is another story. DIY certainly frees up some cash for hardware!!!!

Huff - Most Darwins come with the 510 to 510 adapter. The arm is brass and to limit wear and tear most have adopted the adapter. Some recent pictures of the Rev 14 show a little different conection and maybe MWA or emonty could elaborate.

I have found that the sealed 510-510 adapter that Cisco/Empire/ and some others sell that have the lock nut on them which is used as a Modders 510 fitting are the best adapters to use on the Darwin so far, it is similar or the same one that the original Darwin I first purchased a couple months ago came with that went into the stock Brass Arm. Now the new Darwin I have has this type of connector stock in the brass arm fitting kind of, the way it looks but its all one piece of course. There is NO wire of any kind and these also have a perfect air draw to them.

I too would love to be able to duplicate the Boba's and Gorilla, I buy them in the 100ml too, but I also DIY my Booty off all the time but those two I can not duplicate. I also have just stared buying some from KVB and they have some very good juice to so far.

What flavoring company are you guys using, I use a mix of Natures flavors with LorAnn for my Mixes right now, just curious to what others are using. ???

I love Alien Visions and Kick Bass, I vape Boba's all day, but when I want something that's not tobacco I go to hummingbird nectar. These are great juices. I will probably get into DIY someday, but right now I'm happy buying juice (until I run out and have to wait for shipping, that is).

BTW, welcome aboard Huff. We all hope you'll love the Darwin and we are all glad to help you get the most out of it. This is the most ergonomic mod I've seen, it fits in the hand and pocket really well. Some people don't like it because it's different, but man I really think they got it right.

MWA I use TPA, Flavor Art, Flavor West, Decadent,Cappelas, Blue Mist & Lorann. For tobacco flavors FA has a pretty broad spectrum. I have played with tobacco absolute too but each time I get a grassy sort of hay like flavor note. I have asked for samples of the Boba's and Gorilla and if I am able to clone them (or get close) I would certainly share the recipe. If they are doing a tobacco extraction themselves cloning may be tough. I have played around with tobacco flavoring extraction (for those people at work that just can't totally kick the cigs) and while they like it the flavor just seems off to me. Maybe since I am using comercial cigs and they have all those additives. Anyway if I have any luck I will PM you a Recipe.

The new ones I'm getting from DiscountVapers are called the "510 Battery to Go-go" adapter. It's a lower profile adapter apparently designed for use with standard 510 batteries. From the pics it looks to have construction similar to most non-sealed 510-510 shorty adapters, so I'm hoping it's a solid hot pin from 510-to-GoGo that won't be able to short unless the silicone insulator is compromised. It might require a shorty extender to fit the Darwin.

Just received the shipping notice so I should be able to let you know how they work out this week.

Sounds like (from what I've read so far) that it might be a best bet to get them straight from Drew, or from the other 'solid' vendors (Cisco, Empire). I know that I have definitely (and btw, guys, it's *d e f i n i t e l y*, no "a") have had probs with a few of them. But a small screw driver to rip them apart (just for the he11 of it) is a fun and needed tool box item.

Your modder extraordinaire~

Which is why I opted, by a most highly recommended recommendation, to purchase from RTS. (Thank you, Juice Master.)

No problem Vc I just wanted our clan to be safe and to check the inventory they have. I am certain with the amount of experience most of this crew has they would know that something was not right. I know the stuff I recieved from them smelled and tatsed like something our famous research monkey pulled out of his .... It was promptly used for fun as an incecticide around the house. Yes sometimes its the little things that amuse us guys :) and killing bugs with nic, well lets just say I did not have ants around for sometime!!!!

Ski, they also detest cucumbers, if you can spare any. ;)

I've used all of the ones you've mentioned Ski accept for the blue mist, and I do like the FA for the tobaccos and use them, lately I have been liking my combo of the Natures flavors/LorAnns mixed together on a couple of juices I've been making, but if you could duplicate the Boba's that would be super and I would enjoy having that one, I swear there is snus in it, maybe I'm crazy but I swear there is.

yup yup indeed, ski. Just trying a Cin-roll variant now. The flavor base for this round of testing has stabilized at 80% Cinnamon Danish, 15% Waffle and 5% Cotton Candy. Truly yummy. I got a package of flavorings today at work. I then went home sick. I actually was sick all weekend and today, just went in to work so I could get today's batch.... I spent most of the afternoon measuring 100ths of a ml, doing tiny 1 and 2 ml no-nic test batches for dripping. So far, it looks like 13% of the flavor base in 80/20 is very good for me. I went ahead and gambled on 10 ml of it with nic, I like it. I am not much of a coffee drinker, but I may have to try some with this.

I did see the BE stuff today as well. Not just for DIY, but that surely raises questions with many juice vendors. I used RTS, thanks again for all the help, ski.

Thanks for pointing that thread out Ski! I was using Healthcabin 36mg but last month I decided to buy some boxelder because some people were saying it makes a difference. Thankfully I haven't used it yet. Going to bring my bottle to the lab later this week and get it tested. Crud, I bought a big bottle too. :(

It really does take this hobby of ours to a whole new level and you will be amazed at what you can make yourself.

Totally agree! I started DIYing about 3 weeks after I started vaping. For me, it was all about control of what I am vaping. I reasoned if I made it myself then I know what I am vaping is going to be clean. Fast forward to today, with the boxelder thing, it looks like my feeling of control was an illusion. :( I did get Healthcabin's nic juice tested when I started DIYing and it tested out perfectly clean and accurate.

I still love DIYing, experimenting and so forth is so much fun! Great feeling when you come up with a juice that tastes great. I recommend using Juice me up if you're on Windows. Its a great system to mix and save all your recipes. When I am eating out and have something that tastes good, I am immediately jotting down on my phone what flavors I could use to make that into a juice :). Only problem with DIY for me, is I have ended up with so many tiny bottles of juice. I mix more tests than I can vape, so it backs up on me.

Up until now I've been a little intimidated w/ DIY - just sort of have a mental picture of myself dialing 9-1-1 after inhaling something that I put together. Is there a link that tells you what basics to buy if you were interested in trying DIY? I'm a bit tapped but may try it in the next few weeks. Sounds like it would save me $$ which is what I need to start doing.
