Yeah, party time!

Alright, on a serious note... Reflecting on the design of the Darwin, and the mixed response it seems to have received. I am a relative n00b, so I really had no preconceived notions about what a mod should look like. I shopped long and hard (have fun with that one, Ski!) and the Darwin was the only one I got really excited about. It struck me as a little pricey at the time and I searched for something cheaper, but thankfully wound up with the Darwin.

Now I occasionally see posts by people who criticize the way the Darwin looks or that it looks uncomfortable, but these same people would happily buy a box mod (and I assume many own one or two of them). I think the design of the Darwin is pure genius. It is soooo comfortable in the hand and in the pocket. Sure it's not ideal for tanks, but the tube mods aren't ideal for dripping either. The Darwin is an extremely stable platform for dripping, and mine has never rolled off my desk.

So what is more important, form or function? In my eyes the Darwin has both, though I admit that the fit and finish isn't as polished as that of the Provari. I guess I just needed to vent a little as I find it frustrating to see the silly things people say about it. :)

I agree about the design of the Darwin. I like being able to lay it down and flip the atty to verticle. I do this with my Ego T tank, G4's and another little tank I have. It keeps them from leaking out everywhere, so in my opinion, it is good/best for some of the thinner tanks.

Good point, with a tube mod you'd need to risk laying it sideways or stand it on end and hope it doesn't get knocked over. Hmm, maybe the Darwin is better for tanks as well.

Having the arm bent at 90 degrees or a 120 degrees while vaping makes it so comfortable. I have tried using it with the arm fully extended to sort of simulate using a tube mod and it feels so unnatural to me. Maybe it's just because I've never owned one so I haven't needed to get used to it.

Rob I think it is the fear of the unknown. Most started with a tube or ego type PV. The Darwin breaks convention and that alone can make some people weary. We haven't even touched on the "all Mecahnical" types. I do also like tube MODs and OK maybe it is shallow but I would much rather have someone see me vaping out of my rectangular Darwins than a Phalic looking tube MOD. Maybe that is one of the heterosexual guy things I need to deal with :).

Anyway I am happy that we have a choice and the Darwin will never be a MOD for everyone. Some will jump to the dark side with us and others well hold tight and soon there will be a Evolv solution for them!!! I wonder how many will try a Darwin after the get "Kicked"??????? All is not perfect in Dawinia but they are pushing the envelope, doing something nobody else has and they stand by the products. I will continue to do what I can so to suport Evolv and nHaler so they keep stretching boundries and providing cool gadgets for us.

He's a CEO, nano. I know this because he said it about 272 times. ;)
He avoided and evaded and stumbled and stuttered. And said nothing, in many words.

Kurt, on the other hand, was remarkably experienced, clear, concise, polite, educated and sensible.

I plan to revisit the archive and get yet another giggle over the 'conversation'. BTW, Cozz was superb.

Congrats, Vapian. Had I not been shmoozing at the local "Cheers" bar, I would have definItely attempted a go at the 10,000th.

Vape w/conviction, kiddos. Hugs all around~

There are many things I would like changed about it, but I love my Darwin all the same. Still, if the function of the Darwin were in a prettier package...well, here's to hope for an improvement in that direction...

Maybe we should start a support group or something.. That's one of the (usually) unspoken things that I love about the Darwin (and my other box-mods) - there's no way they can be mistaken for an analog, but I can also never be accused of sucking on a different kind of adult toy in public. Ha.

my darwin sits on the coffee table screen facing up and the arm facing up, perfect to grab and vape, perfect to drip in while it sits there, the thing is amazing, i prefer a bottom feeder for out and about just cuz it holds all the iquid but darwin is my go to at home and especially for dripping!

Interesting discussion on the design. I'd weigh in more but there are some things I'm still evaluating / processing.

What I will say is that one of my favorite aspects is that it doesn't roll; set it on any flat surface and it's just not going anywhere on its own. Round stuff rolls; Darwin don't.

Indulge me here as I would add my "wish list" for a next generation Darwin....I am more than satisfied with mine but here goes:

1. Capacitive (touch) fire button.
2. Capacitive (touch) up and down buttons to adjust wattage with software update to allow both buttons
being touched at the same time to "lock/unlock" the wattage setting.
3. An offset adaptor than can be attached for tanks.
4. Color options.

EDIT: I forgot...... one more thing.......a Darwin Theme Song........(hint-hint)
