Just received my darwin, not too sure I am liking it yet, seems you can only check voltages and ohms when you are firing the device?

Also, how the heck to you fit a tank on here? It will never close.

BTW, I've seen people on youtube using the TTT gooseneck on the Darwin so you can use your tank. Or you can try to find an extender. I'd go with the goosneck tho.

Yes, you can only check the voltages/amps/ohms when firing the device. It shouldn't hurt to hold it down for a few seconds to read the screen though as long as you don't let your atty/carto cook for 5 years... As far as the tanks go, I have never used one so I can't really help out there but the gooseneck suggestion above seems to work for some people.

oh, and if I keep it "on", not in closed position, the light flashes every few seconds. Is that normal?

It is normal. That is the Darwin performing it's "self-check" to make sure everything is in order ;)

Cool, thanks for the info guys/gals, but I think I am going to just sell it... lol, yes, the same day I got it... ROFL
I'll wait for the kick, and put it in my tube mods.

RB37 - yes the Darwin is different than other MOD's and just like some women it does take a day or two to get familar with it. I would suggest holding off for a day or so and run the thing. If it still does not suit you it will move quick in the clasifieds. Either way happy vapes and I am certain once you get the Kick for your tube Mod's you will enjoy that.

Yeah, I can pretty much tell right off the bat if I am going to like something or not. I proposed to my wife after 7 days of knowing her, and we have been married since 97 and still going strong... lol
Don't get me wrong, this looks like a solid piece of craftsmanship, and I do feel VW is the future, but this is just not for me.

That is fair RB. Anyway you gave it a shot and there is not one MOD that fits all. Best of luck and do get a Kick when it hits the streets. While you do not have a read out like the Darwin for the price point this unit brings it and brings VW to any 18650 MOD. It has perfomed flawlessly for me and I have have beat the hell out of it. Happy vapes man!

Yeah, I live near Leesburg. I have heard of Jaxx, I am too old for that stuff anymore... lol 14 years of marriage and 2 kids, slows a man down... HA!

I just prefer tube mods, I should have known better in the first place since I never liked box mods, but I wanted to give it a try, so I did, and found I didn't like it, so now its sold. If everyone liked the same thing it would cause havoc.
I will patiently wait for the kick, so I can get my VW fix, it is much nicer than VV for sure.

Hello,

I just got my Darwin in the mail today bought from another forum member and I had a question. Does anyone know how much battery drain there is from just leaving it on almost all the time? IE will the battery go dead if left on in 1 day? 2? 3? I am always hearing about how good the battery life is but I am wondering if it will drastically reduce it if I just leave it on most of the time. Thanks for any help.

Fright, the drain is so insignificant that you won't even notice it. I frequently use tanks on mine which means the arm stays open a lot while I'm not vaping. If I'm using it at home either with a tank or dripping (mine doesn't close with my drip shields on, either) I don't bother to close it at all and still vape all day on it ;-)

Glad you finally scored one :vapor:

Ha me too Keeno hooked me up. I have been using it for about 5 hours now and really like it. Nice pocketability I like the display and in a weird way I am enjoying the form factor. I wouldn't mind if the dial was a little tighter because I've bumped it a couple times and changed the settings but I am sure I will get use to it.

The form factor had to kinda "grow" on me as well.... I'm just so use to the tubes and now having tried the Grand I can't say the Darwin is or was one of my favorite form factors but it's effectiveness and features more than make up for it IMO.
