Liquids and electronics don't mix. If there is juice in your screen, I doubt it will go away. That stuff doesn't evaporate lol. But I've never experienced this myself.
Nice post!Try putting it in a bag of un-cooked rice. Someone here did that on a Darwin spill, I think. Remembering that advice, a few weeks ago, my cellphone took a bath into a brand-new, freshly delivered tall glass of tea vodka and water. Completely submerged, with it powered on. Don't ask.... I know that I am not faster than electricity, but I had it out of there, the back off, and the battery and cards pulled in about .001 seconds. I later bathed it well with an electrical contact cleaner I know is safe for plastic, gave it liberal doses of 91% iso alcohol, and gave it the hair dryer treatment. I put it in a bag of rice, and zip-locked it.
The next day, I put battery in, it powered up. The screen looked like an aquarium, no keys worked. Put it back in the rice.
The next day, I put battery in, it powered up, and got signal. The screen looked like an aquarium, no keys worked. Put it back in the rice.
And so forth. Another few days, more and more things started working, it spent 5 days in the rice. Now it seems to work fine, and it is really, really clean.
I don't recommend dunking your Darwin in anything, since you can't remove the battery, but perhaps try some rice.
Rice is nice.
My Darwin finally came back to me! I'm so excited![]()
Oh boy! that should mean that a big ole package of Darwins should be on there way to Drew very soon, at least I hope.
Just send e-mail to dgliem00@gmail.com and ask to be put on the notification list for a Darwin...
