I'm really liking them. I liked the smokymizers too, but I hated that little plug because I lost every one of them lol. I may buy more of these, but it would be nice to see them at more places. I guess these are the only cartos besides polyfils that I do not get dry hits with(with slight modification of course).

How do you "move the wick" in these?

From my experience, they are OK, not great, but OK, I'm not a fan of CE2 style cartos, historically speaking, I have found that the Novas are pretty decent, and the new changeable coil stardusts are the best ones I've seen yet.

The bottom coils I found got better after the initial fill, probably due to some sort of primer.

Well there are slots on each side and the entire wick is completely in these slots. In my experience , it works best if there is a bit of juice on the wicks. What you do is take a small needle and partially "fluff" the wick moving it apart. Basically you are taking anywhere from 1/4 or a little more of the wick and moving it to the inside of the chamber where the cup is located. This causes a lot more juice to flow into the chamber, but you have to be careful with it or you will wind up with some leaking. I'm able to run them at around 10 watts like this without getting any burnt hits or leaking. I have moved too much wick out in the past and it caused them to leak so you have to do a little at a time.

Guys.....look.....I know we all want to.....ahem...."do STUFF" to our Darwin's, and yes they are damned sexy, but it might be best if for Brandon's sanity.....we just not take that risk......

Or you could just name it Kat and send it back to Brandon when your done:lol:

Like I did, its up to you:p

Or you could just send Kat to Brandon... (just sayin'... I have no idea what that even means...)

ski-ster, I miss ya! You never call, you never write, and you don't send me Darwins..... anymore.

Just a little story, I contacted Brandon on Monday night, he gets back to me 1st thing Tuesday morning, I had told him I was going to Hawaii in 10 days, he tells me that if I send it today, Tuesday, he can have it back to me before I go. To say that I was skeptical was an overstatement, but I wouldn't call it hopeful either, I figure, Thursday, I leave on Friday, maybe, keep in mind the 4th of July is in the middle of all of this.

I certainly had not hoped that I would go to my mailbox today and find my Darwin waiting for me, but that is exactly what happened.:vapor:

As àa backdrop to all of this, I placed an order with another vendor the same day I sent my Darwin out, and as far as I can tell it has yet to ship, much less get to me, which, if it hasn't shipped by today, there is no way in hell it gets here by Friday, thus meaning my order, juice included, will sit in the Tennessee summer heat in my mailbox til I return.

Long and short to this story is, Brandon and Evolv KICK ...:2c:

There's another 'Darwin vs. Provari thread going on. It was casual at first, but the 'varists are slamming Darwin hard. I made a couple of neutral comments.

I did notice one thing, in this particular one? I know time on ECF does not equal how long you have been vaping, but the most vocal Provarists have only been on ECF for a month or two.... everybody loves the first girl they kissed, but sometimes it's time to move on...

So the Darwin is the next step then?

I'm glad I got into that thread early, so was able to make a calm, collected post. Once they degenerate they just piss me off . . . I've been kinda cranky the last couple days, anyway, so me posting in that thread at this point would not end well

Hey, they're both great. I use my Darwin mostly to see what voltage to set my Provari at to get my preferred wattage range and it's real good for checking to see if your atty is losing resistance as you're vaping. Tempted to sell it, but I keep it for those reasons because it's indispensable. Not sure why there has to be a rivalry between the two. Also, a lot of the "popularity" of the Darwin is due to it's constant unavailability. Would love to see the technology put into a different, more attractive and ergonomic package. I would buy that for sure. I wouldn't buy another so that others can get their hands on them, unless there were some sort of change for the better, improvements, that subjectively to me would make it more attractive and then I'd sell my old one.

I had a Provari for almost a year and used it as my main PV. I loved it and never thought I'd get rid of it. Then when I unexpectedly got a Darwin at a vape meet, the Provari was rarely used. I wound up trading it a few months ago. I'll still say it's a great PV, but for me, nothing touches VW and the Darwin. Some people hate the form factor of the Darwin, but I think it's awesome. No other PV fits that well in my pocket. As for people saying they don't like it because tanks don't close on it, the small DCC tanks fit on it and close fine with an 510 extender. If you're like me and don't like DCCs or smok's cartos, they're easy enough to cut down and fit a boge.

Form factor???? I also like the Darwins form. Unlike the wife and the Vari at least the Darwin will not roll away when you lay it down :)
