From what I understand, you would need to be able to solder to replace them yourself.
Count me in on the Pandora trip, just let me get some more life insurance first. And a camera.

Has anyone tried 801 cartos on the Darwin yet? I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a couple of them...
Im hoping to have some news today...I have used the 801 cartos which aren't really much different than the other cartos IMO...They have a better draw on the 801 devices I have used them with and depending on the adapter you have, are very similar on the Darwin.

Don't mind the solderin', as long as the batteries are commonly available or available from Nhaler. Hate to commit to a Darwin and find out later that it won't work any more coz I can't replace the batteries.
I don't think drews going to carry the batts they are a completely diff type. You would probably need to get them directly from evolv. And if that's the case its just best to send it back to them to install it. You've got a year warranty on the battery and they do it for free.
They are not proprietary batts - as I understand it. They are Lithium Polymer cells (similar to iPhone batts). However, while you CAN replace them - I suspect it would void your Evolv Warranty. I would imagine even opening the case might kill your warranty. How can they honor a warranty if people are opening up the electronics compartment and soldering? They would then be placed in the position of having to warranty YOUR work (and possible damages) not theirs. The batts have a 1 yr warranty and the device 2 yrs. Personally, I would not risk my warranty to avoid being without my device for a few days. After the first year, you can still send to Evolv for new batts for $25 and they come with a new full year warranty.
So, yes, they ARE user replaceable but is it worth losing the warranty? Not to me.
Well said Neb...I was actually just on the phone with Evolv discussing that exact issue...If you open the Darwin it will be clear to them that it has been opened and it will void the warranty...

I absolutely understand jacktan's question and concern, (especially since he is in Malaysia) but this isn't really somethng someone (even a great solderer) would want to do...IMO

I havent tried them BUT, have you tried the Jumbo Kr808 carts I sell??? If you did you might notice a distinct similarity
Yuppers they work great! The ones that I received run about 2.6 ohms.
Thoughts on the batteries.. This thing holds a charge so long that it has not been a problem. However, I was heading out the door and thought it would have been nice to swap out the batteries for a fresh set. But then again can't complain after three days.. Just hate to leave it alone log enough to charge the sucker!

I e-mailed Drew for info on how to "get in" line to buy a Darwin and he got back with me very quickly with a reservation number to use to place my order. Wow. I had to e-mail him back and yield my reservation. I had no idea they'd be available again so soon, much less I'd have the opportunity to buy one.
I'll be watching to see how this batch sells.
In the meantime, back to saving nickels and dimes. Does this kid in my house really need braces? Hmmm...
