So Drew, you're still coming out to LA that day, right?
?D

oh..sk, that's what I assumed, but don't you always get one with your orders? I have a stack, lol.
Was hoping I wasn't missing something like a frequent shoppers card!
I think it is quite possible to make a drip shield that will work on an 801, and not just in theory. I don't have the tools to make such a thing, so will leave it up to someone who does.None taken - was merely trying to clarify why they do not fit 801 attys and complete my earlier attempt to effectively answer your question. However, I do not think a drip shield will ever effectively prevent 801 style attys from leaking. Each of the several 801 styles: 801, BE112, 302 and 4072 all have slightly different air intake holes. Even with adapters, as liquid runs fluidly, I do not see any way to completely seal from leakage. Theoretically, it could be possible but implementation and theory are often two different things.
Yeah, that's what I'll have to work on. So far, I've only tried dripping a few times. And while dripping I didn't have any problems. My problem comes when I'm using a cartridge (not carto), and I leave my PV in an upright position for any length of time, I will invariably have some leaking, regardless of how full or empty the cartridge is.So, if ya wanna use 801 attys, and not risk leakage - ya kinda have to get into the "Art of Dripping".![]()

I use tiny, padded hair elastics, BB - the kind for toddler girls, to contain leakage from 801s. Because they're a more generous vape vessel it's more like seepage than actual, drip-down-the-sides leakage. They're usually in the hair care aisle in someplace like Walmart and they fit well around the Darwin.
Stay tuned - gonna take a (bad) pic and show you what I mean...
No need for a pic, I know what you mean. I like the idea of the drip shield though, to contain and reuse the juice, instead of cleaning it up after it leaks.
I would imagine the hair elastic would get kinda soggy after a while.

Well. Now I'm late cuz I skimmed all the posts for the last several pages. If you don't hear from me, I'm reading "The Darwin News".
K in LA~
Fortunately, you're worth waiting for!
I recently decided it was time to start looking for a commercial mod with variable voltage and had decided on the Provari. I was prepared to order one when I decided to do a little more research because it was bothering me that even with its variable voltage and digital read out the Provari was still a tube with a battery. I had seen the Darwin, but the price had turned me away before really doing any research. After putting all the items in the shopping cart I would need for the Provari, I realized they were close enough in price that I should study the Darwin before making my purchase.
Good post Tainted! I think you'll be pleased!
I had 2 ProVaris. Sold one and gave sister the other one. They are a great device BUT.... They are not the Darwin!! I've used a gazillion mods and Darwin is cream of crop in my eyes! Loves my Darwin!!
