You are not supposed to be able to screw any atty/carto/adapter all the way into the Darwin. There should be a gap of just about 1/8 inch between the bottom of the atty and the top of the threads on the Darwin. This was done on purpose for airflow. I fit is screwed in far enough to be able to vape, then it's far enough.

Yea, I've never cranked it down. Essentially I get it down enough to where it hits.

The problem is that where it hits now it will come out with the slightest wiggle - doesn't mean I'm still not using it though! :)

Hope everyone's night is well. I think I'm going to try and knock out some Chemistry homework. Who said going back to school in your mid/late twenties was good idea?

Ok so the Ploom arrived. I promissed an update to a few of my fellow Darwinians so here goes:

1) If you like gadgets and neat things this unit does have a coolness factor to it. Price was $75, throw in some pods and you are quickly up to $100

2) As most of us here on the Darwin thread are SERIOUS vapers this thing is going to leave you less than satisfied. Sort of like a quickie, yeah you get some but it just is not fulfilling.

3) The unit does heat up quick and puts out a good flavor but if you are looking for TH and vapor then you are out of luck. When you take a hit it is almost like smoking an ultra light that was half broken and you are still trying to get a drag. Yeah you taste it but that is about it. Wimpy vapor at best and again it just sort of leaves you feeling less than satiated.

4) Possibly could be used to vaporize other things but as far as getting your nic you would be better off saving the $100 on this unit and getting a 250ml bottle of good 100mg/ml nic or putting it towards another Darwin

CG, Krisb, SK and any others I will bring it the next time we meet and you can try it. I would not reccomend this unit for someone trying to kick cigs and unless you meet the criteria in #1 and have $100 to burn I would shy away.

Great review, Ski (reviewski) but sorry it's not meeting your ahem fulfillment. Like you said, perhaps you'll find other uses for it, and good that you told everyone else so they can save their dimes for more juice, more PVs, more Darwins!

Next time we meet? I guess I'm one of the any others, eh? LOL, I'm going to be there, too.

Hear ya, went to nursing school at 25 and going for my paramedics in the fall at now 40. Not really for $, as they actually make less than I can now, but always wanted to try it out.

You should do reviews professionally L2S! I like the quicky line, but no surprise there.

Ski...nice review. Saved me the urge to spend!

I am being skeptically optimistic about the FDA thing. My worries are taxes and at what level of regulation? Their money makers right now are cigs and cessation drugs...they will have to make ecigs more and more profitable the more popular they become over their other pets!

Cartomizer question for my fellow Darwinians. I vape 801/BE112 attys and 801 cartos. I've never really cared for the 510. But I am wondering about 3 of Drew's new cartos and how they would do on the Darwin: the 510 Dual Coil, the 510 Jumbo and the IGo. Can anyone give me their impressions, especially if you can compare them to 801 cartomizers on the Darwin. Thanks.

Yes the taxes and fees will come. But we knew they would at some point. For Ski, SK and me, it will effectively kill the current NYS Ban Legislation since it is wrapped around the FDA's "medical device" stance, and with that gone, the bill is obsolete. So good and bad....

I've done them all wv. I love the Dual Coil for flavor, the Jumbo, affectionately known as "The Big Gulp" in these parts is great for it's quantity, but tends to mute flavor a bit, but is still very vapable. The IGo is a cross between the two, still forming an opinion on it, but it has promise.
