...So I know the device is a little larger than the avg mod but how do they hold up when traveling or out and about? Are they pretty durable if dropped, do they scratch easily, etc.?...

While the body of them is longer than a lot of mods, since the arm swings down it makes the effective length shorter than most tube mods that have an atty/carto attached. Easily fits in your pants pocket.

You got it right, darwinian. Yes, there is short protection. No, doesn't scratch easy AT ALL. Mine has absolutely no scratches. Has some heft to it, enough to feel very durable, but light enough and thin enough to hold easily, and I have a rather small hand. Because the atty arm folds down, it is highly portable in a pocket/purse.

Am I forgetting anything?

Thanks soooo much for the info everyone, guess my only worry now will be that my ProVari will be put aside but guess if that happens permanently then there is always the classifieds as not really sure what the ProVari can do that the Darwin can't do better.
